  1. Wow! See, its takes an 8 core 16 Thread CPU to keep up with a 4 core 8 thread CPU. I still need more time to make a decision. I'm going to wait until the dust settles and the Radeon RX Vega is released.
  2. Yeah, that is what I figured. I still wanted to see the results. Would love to get the 6900X, but hopefully Intel will drop the price down a little more. Thanks for the reply.
  3. I'm really interested in the video editing aspects of it. I was just about to pull the trigger on an i7-6850K, Asrock X99Extreme4 mobo, but pulled out. I wanted to see what people say about the Ryzen. I've been with Intel since the Core 2 Duo days and I haven't looked back. I was once 100% AMD during the Pentium 4 days. 31-stage pipeline CPU/nuclear reactor. a heater essentially. Then they did a complete redesign and made the Core 2. 31 stage pipeline down to 13. I just want the best bang for my money. Either it be AMD or Intel. I will not lie, I wanted the 40 PCI lanes and 128gig capability of the 2011-v3. However, 64gig may work just fine. Adobe after effects barked at me saying I ran out of memory with 32gigs... unreal!
  4. Yes I am aware.. less heat means longer lasting CPU.
  5. Whichever (100 Mhz off), still seems to be pretty cool. That for alot less $$ and TDP, you can have something real nice.
  6. What should be noted: The 1700 base is 3.0Ghz but turbo is 3.7Ghz. 700Mhz boost. The 1700x base is 3.4Ghz but turbo is 3.8Ghz, only a 400Mhz boost The 1800x base is 3.6Ghz but turbo is 4.0Ghz, only a 400Mhz boost So, you should be able to get 4Ghz on the 1700 without an issue. I believe all these chips are identical in one way or another.
  7. Fastest possible single slot. Works perfectly. Water cooling is out of the question. I have no room in the case. Already have a GTX980ti and a GTX580
  8. Looking for an AMD video card that uses only a single slot. Fastest possible. Will be used for video encoding only. No displays will be connected to it. Just need the GPU / APU for open-CL. Thanks in advance.
  9. LOL, I was considering telling him to go intel, but that increases this cost to $100 over his $500 budget. Drop to a quad core (AMD FX-4300), and a 370
  10. Damn! I would agree that the spool you have may be screwed! Those look great. How do you know they don't work? Attached is my testing equipment
  11. Looks great. Now take a pic of the top and side of the jack to see if you actually got the wires during the crimping process. You should see them without an issue
