so i think because youre saying the monitor doesnt turn on, it means that there is no video signal.  did you reseat the gpu? could be an issue of another part but you didnt say anything about testing gpu

then yea, RMA time. Could double check to make sure the fan header is seated properly on it board. If not, then it sounds like a faulty controller for it.

Tf....$260 for 1060 6GB. You might as well go with 1660TI. Same price but better performance.

definitely far from overheating. sub 90 is generally ok, and sub 85 is usually ideal unless you're very anal about temps.

Well I didn't know if you needed a dedicated recording system, in which case a cpu with an igpu would be fine, but if you need a system that is both playing and recording the game, youre going to need a budget larger than $500 to get near 1080p60fps while recording.

For just recording or does it need a gpu? Either way, i think a ryzen 2200g system would flt.  Here's a parts list in usd that is under budget.

Dude I think you have an issue with just not learning.  After a completely new laptop malfunctions not once, but twice, you bought another one.  Do more research before buying a $2000 laptop because it might end up turning into a brick if you don't.  The msi laptop is great from what I hear, but the specs won't live up to their numbers 100% because it's in a portable system that will thermal throttle.  If you go back on this one again, I recommend taking a break from buying laptops for a while.  I personally took about a month of research before deciding what I wanted to get.  Even while I wanted/needed more performance, I settled on the gigabyte aero 15w which has an i7 8750 and a 1060 6gb, and it was a great decision that came with its own problems that I eventually figured out and fixed (like its notorious battery drain that requires you to uninstall a couple default programs to fix).

Purepower 10/11 500 watt from Bequiet.

depending on where you are from.

also you can most likely get a rx 580 for less than a gtx 1060.

Correct me if I am wrong but the best way to do it would be to get an external thunderbolt 3 GPU enclosure and then just plug the thunderbolt 3 into what ever device you need to use, granted you may need to get a thunderbolt 3 card for your PC

You're writing nonsense, please stop spreading misinformation.

Honestly I'd just keep it because you know noise can be countered with headphones and your temps are perfectly normal for a video card, I don't know what kind of miracle you're expecting.

Using money on a sidegrade for such little issues sounds like a waste but if you can sell your current card you could go with a GTX 1660 Ti for instance which should run somewhere quieter/colder depending on the model.

I'd urge your to give it all a better though no less.

You can look through here, I trust z, but his reviews are very subjective so take that into account.  Either of these two will probably get the job done if you need specific speakers 1 2

Dang ok.  Sound quality is usually a first for me when recommending stuff.  If you don't care as much, the steelseries will probably do its job just as well as any other headset

Most headsets are garbage so I don't recommend spending a lot on it.  If it isn't necessary, wired headphones have a much wider range of options and you will probably prefer it too.

hconverse02 reacted to Silentprototipe in The best non-gaming-Laptop!!! Your opinion
Okay personally (May be a bit biased) but the Envy X360 i've been rocking for the past year and a half has been the most solid machine i've ever bought. That thing is a sheer beast. While some people definitely hate HP with a passion (for very good reasons mind you) the X360 is something else. This however only applies for the Ryzen mobile version of the X360. The Intel version is pretty underwhelming. Ryzen mobile is what completely redeems the X360 in both price and performance. I got mine at $579 however on Christmas Eve. As for the hardware the R5 2500U easily beats 2nd-4th gen i5's and some i7's (649 CB in R15). On top of that the Vega 8 IGPU is very strong for how low power it is. Ive used it as my primary gaming machine ever since I got it and it preforms wonderfully. I can get away with playing AAA games in 900p and lighter games easily at 1080p(GTA 5 runs at 900p 40-50 FPS). The only real downfall to the X360 would be the dim screen (Somewhere around 250 nits) and the lack of USB ports (2x USB 3 and 1 USB C). Also another gray area is USB C charging on the thing as its mentioned in HP's website but as far as I can tell its untested. Otherwise it uses the meh barrel style plug for charging. Overall I really love my X360 over the year and a half
