Ok, that hardware is impressive.
But what about the software? Are you still using FreeNAS?

skogsvilden reacted to theelitegamer in Cherry MX Blue or Brown?
Browns if you in a relationship
Blue if your not in a relationship
That's my guide really .
I hate the noise blue makes but the feel is amazing. Brown is somewhat harder for me but I adapt very quickly. But Each to their own

skogsvilden reacted to bob345 in Cherry MX Blue or Brown?
I like browns better than blues. You get a similar tactile click like you do with blues but you dont have the obnoxious noise of blues.
-
skogsvilden reacted to Thought in Cherry MX Blue or Brown?
I prefer Browns over Blues because I cannot stand the noise Blues make. Up to you. They feel pretty much the same, so it's whether or not you like the loud click noise Blues make.

Should have overclocked to 1.8v.
Could have gotten 6 Jiggerhertz with that.

This is a really good format for non-review/informal videos (but then again everything is informal at LTT...)

Anyone noticed, that Linus actually used the monitor at 4K (3840x2160@60Hz) in the video ... lol

Finished watching that video. Gorgeous thought on 5k and god do I want one *_* But 144hz 1440p IPS or 4k 60hz with G-sync / free-sync works for me until 5k / 8k is cheap in 4 years.

So the next logical thing is to do another set of videos that focuses on Ubuntu and the hardware foibles and recommendations for that system.

How many users then would it take to crash your government's websites? Do you think they might do something about your bandwith then? All hypothetical, of course.

LOL what? Have you been living under a rock for the last year? JK
FreeSync is AMD's GPU/Driver Side version of NVIDIA's G-Sync. FreeSync works based on the WESA/DisplayPort Standard called Adaptive-Sync, which allows variable "on-the-fly" refresh-rates on Monitors. (Note: G-Sync does not use Adaptive-Sync. They use a proprietary, custom built chip inside the monitor)
The idea is that the refresh rate of the monitor will automatically scale on-the-fly to match whatever the current FPS of your game is. So if your FPS dips down to 48, then back up to 53, then to 60, then down to 57, then your monitor's refresh rate will scale to match this.
What this does is prevent screen tearing, and otherwise makes the experience look and feel a lot smoother. Traditionally, V-Sync would be used to combat that problem, but V-Sync has a LOT of limitations, and also introduces input lag.

Slick and Linus seriously better check this out when they go to CES in 2015. I really hope they do a video feature or series of videos on FreeSync to see how it's developing.
