  1. So there actually two slots: 1. default ssd slot (I already put 970 Evo there 2. Slot for LTE modem (which is not in use) and want to utilize it for additional ssd
  2. yep, I saw KingSpec, but this is kinda unknown brand, I'm little bit concerned about it... Don't want to lose my data. Do you know by chance any other ssd's from reputable brands that will fit in the slot?
  3. Hey, everyone. As topic suggestes I have "Thinkpad x1 carbon 7th gen" laptop. The laptop has an LTE modem Fibcom L850-GL, which as far as I understand uses M.2 Key B slot (2242). Based on what I've read the port on laptop's matherboard is PCIE Gen3, 2 lanes. I'm running linux as my daily driver, and never use LTE modem, so I want to replacing it with additional SSD. So questions are: * Did I missed something? Does L850-GL actually uses M.2 key b slot (2242), and my laptop's motherboard supports pcie gen3 on that port? * And most importantly: What SSD you would recommend? I want to maximise capacity and if tradeoffs required - willing to sacrifice speed. Thank you in advance.
  4. Hello everyone, Sorry for lame questions. I want to upgrade ssd in my laptop, so I faced with two problems: 1) Choose new ssd 2) Data migration plan. According to device manager currently i have: Western Digital PC SN720 NVMe SSD (pdf) And as an replacement i choose Samsung V-NAND SSD 970 EVOPlus (pdf) So at this point I hope you can help me with few questions: 1) Does new ssd that I've selected compatible with my laptop? (It seems like yes, but this mess in m.2 standard makes me worry). Main concern: compatibility with hardware, elimination of bottlenecks 2) Does new ssd that I've selected is a good choice? (I want to buy 2TB one. Usage pattern: no games, some VMs, documents and source codes. Reason: I don't want to worry about capacity anymore). Main concerns (in order): durability, performance, $/gb ratio, power consumption, heat output 3) How to migrate from old ssd to new ssd? I spent last 10 years on linux and I'm not sure if there is any pain-free approach to change ssd in windows world. My main concern: windows license Thanks, SA
  5. Hello everyone, I'm trying to build budged PC for work, and i choose: MSI B450M Mortar Max motherboard Ryzen 3200G CPU I'm hoping to use Ryzen's onboard graphics, but I'm little bit confused: on one hand the manual ambiguously says it supports onboard graphics for Ryzen Gen.1 and Gen.2 only (page 15, section "onboard graphics") but on other hand bios version 7B89v18 enables support for 3200g. So, is it possible to use onboard graphics or not? And optional question: Is it possible to use two 1080p displays simultaneously with this setup? Thanks in advance
