Excellent news. I don't plan on going out there any time soon just to buy a fan. This suits me fine for the time being. Cheers!

Hi, just a quick - if weird - question. So, I wired up a bunch of case fans to an old PSU, attached them to a bit of wood and now have them pointed directly at my face. Because it's so god damned hot today. My question; Is there anything dangerous about having a 500w PSU only running case fans for a long period of time (tripped with a paperclip as no MoBo)? My room mate seems to think so, I thought I'd check just in case. Thanks in advance!

Absolutely I will. I'm always lurking around in this forum but every time I've had a question there's always been a quick and detailed response. Not really seen any elitism or noob-bashing, either. LTT = tech forum of choice these days

This is excellent news, thanks guys! We were all going to chip in for the hardware so cost there isn't really a problem and one of us has insanely good internet so we'll store it at his house I'm looking forward to doing a shit ton of research now re: hardware, plugins etc. Love research.

Hi, a group of friends and I used to have LAN parties all the time but we've since moved apart and can do it less and less frequently. During a conversation, someone brought up the idea of a server / NAS that can: -Host private games (to try and cut down on all the game server rental/accounts we have going on) -Stream the same music to all of us at the same time like internet radio, but in a way that we can all add to the playlist from our own machines remotely (i.e, a friend in another city could upload a track from his library and it would be added into the playlist / conversely if someone stuck some Bieber on there someone else could remove it) -Host permanent VOIP -Allow us all to upload files, screens etc so we can share while gaming or even leave files there for people to pick up when they come on. I know these things are doable on their own, but is all of it possible from the same machine? If so, which OS / programs am I looking at here? any help is greatly appreciated

Out of all the aftermarket coolers I've seen so far it's the only one that's actually going to go with everything else in my system. I realise looks aren't top priority, but so long as it doesn't somehow perform worse than the stock cooler then I don't really care. I'll keep an eye on Overclockers then, though I didn't see that particular model last time I checked. If not I might have to get a different card and just cover up my side window so I can't see it

I've been without a GPU for a while now, ever since my trusty 7770 died on me. After seeing the 290 DD card I've decided this is the one for me, but I can't find it for sale in the UK anywhere. Is it just not out yet? If not, anyone have a rough idea of when I can get my hands on one? Thanks in advance

I think the Windforce may be the card for me.

Wow. My 7770, were it still alive, would apparently be getting 22 min on Ultra w/no filtering. Probably a good thing it died when it did.

This build looks awesome so far. Subbed.

Cheers for the quick responses guys. I won't be making a purchase until next week anyway, so I guess I'll wait to see what happens with the prices. Up until my 7770 up and died I was planning on saving up for a real upgrade anyway, but now needs must an I've got to get the best I can for the money I've got Thanks again! This forum is awesome, btw. Don't know why I haven't come here sooner.

First post! Hi, just wondering how big of a difference there is between the EVGA GTX 660 Ti SC (3gb) and the 3gb FTW variant ( non Ti ) I'll be replacing my recently deceased HD 7770 with one of these, and seeing as they're priced around £30 apart from each other (on Amazon anyway) I was wondering if there's any real performance difference. Thanks in advance! Links to the specific models: http://amazon.co.uk/dp/B008ZX2OWQ http://amazon.co.uk/dp/B00AB7LSEO
