  1. I can't remember how to add items to that menu but I know it is possible. I do however know how to add items to the context menu when you right click on your desktop. If you would be interested in that, I can briefly explain it.
  2. I use Fedora and CentOS because we use Red Hat based systems in my college. That being said, Ubuntu and Linux Mint seem to be the most popular for new Linux users.
  3. Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\User Accounts Change user account control settings. Move slider to Never Notify.
  4. My first camera was a Nikon FE, it took pictures on this magical thing called film. My editing setup? I would call it a processing station and it was a darkroom in my basement.
  5. I'm currently only running a single 1.5TB drive. I pulled it out of a prebuilt computer when I built my current rig because I was too cheap to buy another.
  6. I think power user shouldn't be defined by hardware so much as the user's ability to use their system and adapt to other operating environments.
  7. ooVoo is an option. It's really only good for video though, audio quality was horrible the last time I tried it.
  8. So where is the part where we edit inittab to boot straight into runlevel 3?
  9. I'm using two 4:3 ratio monitors. A 17 inch Dell and a 15 inch NEC that I spray painted black. I'm also using a 10 year old Dell membrane keyboard (I really like the feel).
  10. I'm looking for another system because you can't have too many computers.
  11. Make sure your 60GB SSD is plugged into your first sata port and plug your 120GB SSD into the second sata port. Boot to a Linux live CD and issue the command dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/sdb from a terminal. This will copy the contents of the first SSD to the second. Make sure you back up all data before doing this because screwing up the dd command can wipe your entire SSD.
  12. Because using a command shell is faster if you know what you are doing.
  13. Me personally, yes. But, that is only because I get it for free from my ISP.
  14. No. I have actually been using Norton for over a year and it has not slowed any of my systems. You even said that you didn't notice a difference between Norton and Avast. Norton was horrible several years back but they have since completely redone their software and it doesn't slow systems anymore.
  15. Just make sure you understand the licensing. I know my student licenses are only valid for two years. It would be a shame if your Windows server stopped working unexpectedly due to an expired license. I personally love Linux and my vote goes for a Linux server. If you like to play around with operating systems, Windows Server 2012 R2 release preview is available on technet (can only be used until sometime in January).
