  1. Yeah I guess I'll go for a semi-permanent glue kind of setup once I will get a new battery. The battery was obviously removed, I currently use it as a desktop and trash the old battery again Don't really want to leak battery juice everywhere) Thanks for the advices
  2. Hey Guys, I got an issue with my late 2016 Razer blade 14. The battery started swelling and by the time I realized it, the deformation caused my screws to strip several screw holes (because making the screws more durable than the screw hole is such a good design solution from Razer) Anybody has any idea how I can fix this? Cause right now I miss 4 screws on the bottom right left part of the laptop which is definitely not a good thing. Thanks in advance guys ?
  3. Hey Guys, I'm looking for a convenient way to both switch and split HDMI signals. The idea is to connect my Switch, Wii U, PS3 and Xbox One to the same TV (which only has 2 HDMI ports) but also to connect this to the HDMI in from my Xbox One to do some Ghetto streaming (Switch > Xbox One > Xbox App from a Win 10 laptop > Twitch via OBS) The OG xbox one induce latency with it's HDMI passthrough making action games unplayable that way so I was thinking to mirror the signal to my TV and the Xbox using a splitter. Anyone knows a good affordable (money is currently an issue) splitter/switch with 3 inputs and 2 outputs with low lattency? (i don't know if switch and splitters induce latency but I guess it could)
  4. Hey Guys, I think that my power supply is dying (Razer blade 165W) cause my laptop is discharging quite quickly under load when the charger is plugged in (3 hours of BFV, never happened before) A replacement charger is 150 € here in europe (So ... a total rip-off basically) and I'm looking into "3rd party" alternative. There is one charger from Delta Electronics (Used for MSI and Clevo Laptop) that was adviced by people online. However, the output Voltage is slightly different (19.5 instead of 19.8 V) and the wattage is also different (180 W instead of 165 W) As far as I know, the wattage should not affect the laptop (correct me if I'm wrong) as it should only draw as much power as it needs. it might even help as the 165W power supply is quite weak for the configuration. But would the slight difference in voltage be an issue? 5. Well I guess the explanation is that simple. Regarding the VRM, I was actually surprised to see that they are thermally connected to the heatsink using thermal paste. So I also repasted those. But I guess I won't mess it up. What drives me crazy is that my wife's laptop (my old msi gs60 with a 4700HQ) is reaching 3.3 GHz on all core since I repasted it and it stopped thermally throttling. But my 6700hq is not even reaching that. Which is quite disappointing (and why I started looking into unlocking it)
  6. Hey people, I got a question regarding the 6700HQ. When I run games like overwatch, my CPU frequency is reported as 3.1 GHz (according to MSI AB) which is the turbo boost frequency for all 4 cores. However, I noticed that when running prime95 (testing temps after repasting with kryonaut), the frequency is reported as 2,9 GHz on all cores (according to HWMonitor) and the CPU throttles due to PL1 (Or power limit 1) as seen by throttlestop (temps are around 70-75 while gaming and when running prime95). I have a Razer Blade 14 late 2016, my cpu is undervolted (-174 mV) and the iGPU is undervolted (-80 mV). I'm running Windows 10 home set to high Performance, same for the iGPU and I set the PC to use the gtx 1060 through the control panel. Anyone knows why that is the case and why it differs from gaming to stress testing? And anyone knows if it is possible to raise PL1 and if it is safe to do so? (I have a modded bios, undervolt is within the bios but I did not touch anything else)
  7. Hey Guys, Pretty new to messing with laptop internals (except the yearly dust removal). I want to repaste the Laptop and am thinking about changing the thernal pads just in case. Anybody has any idea how thick the razer blade thermal pads are? Cheers. Gahu
  8. Well Tom's Hardware states that the Nixeus only does 120Hz through the HDMI and did not found any source to back up your claim for the XG2401, do you have personal experience with any of these monitor to confirm what you are saying?
  9. I actually checked after you comment and found the BenQ XL2540, the Viewsonic XG2530, the Asus XG258Q and the AOC AG251FZ that all allows 240 Hz through HDMI 2.0, but they all cost around 400 € which is quite expensive for my taste. Especially cause my laptop rarely goes over 150 frames in actual gameplay in Overwatch or Destiny 2 (main games I'm playing atm). I also found the LG S25HG50 who does 1080p@144Hz and allows for 144hz through HDMI 2.0 for 280 €, I might go for that one but if anybody knows a cheaper alternatives, I'd love to hear about it. Yeah but the issue with 120 Hz, is that I lose the benefits of the performance gain in some most of the games.
  10. Hey Guys, I got my Razer blade late 2016 and I would like to take advantage of the neat little HDMI 2.0 ports for some high refresh rate gaming. I know that this is doable using the TB3 ports, but the TB3 ports is not directly linked to the dGPU meaning that you gest some performance loss. The HDMI 2.0 ports is directly linked to the gtx 1060 which means that if I get a monitor that supports 144 Hz through HDMI 2.0, I might expect a small performance boost. Anyone knows a good 24 to 25 inch monitors that would support 1080p@144hz through an HDMI 2.0 ports? Thanks in advance.
  11. You might have to change a settings with the monitor and tell it to take the imput from the HDMI and not from the Displayport Not sure but play around with the OSD of the monitor
  12. I am interested in it to connect my blade late 2016 to my desk setup. But can it run a 1080p 144hz monitor (through the Display port) as well as a gaming mouse and keyboard without any input lag? Main purpose: Playing Overwatch competitively
  13. This is a monster machine =O And ... a monster price too =D
