ASRock B85M PRO4 + G1820
mucitel1 replied to donaldduck2004's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
You will need DDR3 ram for this combo. 4GB should be enough, which will add up about 30€. -
Thoughts on my first PC build for entry level gaming?

Actually it will using a certain tool. -
ASRock B85M PRO4 + G1820

My parents have a G1820 alongside 4GBs of ram and a 40GB SSD. It works OK for web surfing and office based programs (basic picture editing, word, excel). I checked IT amazon and it's a tad cheaper then buying new. However I have seen low end Celeron/Pentium socket 1150 CPUs go for as low as 20-25€ used in Slovenia. Not sure which site you look at for used stuff but if you manage to find a cheap Pentium such as G3220 or similar and buy a new H81 mobo (~47€), you will stay within your budget and have a slightly better CPU. -
Thank you for the input. I've checked out some benchmarks and it seems R9 280 and GTX 960 are pretty much tied. I just noticed a Sapphire 280 for about 10€ less, which will be enough to cover 500W PSU.

I'm building a PC for a friend of mine, which will be mostly focused towards gaming and office work. Since I am from Slovenia, I will be ordering all of the parts from Germany (hardwareversand), because it's about 30% cheaper than buying it in my country plus I've used their service before and had absolutely no issues. Below is a picture of the parts I was thinking of ordering and the explanation for all of them. If ya'll think I should swap something out, I'll consider it. Keep in mind I'm taking Intel CPU, but I'm flexible on the GPU side. Please keep in mind that prices on this site might be a lot different then you might be used from sites such pcpartpicker. Parts explanation: - CPU: As I stated earlier, I'm going with intel. I chose the i3 because it's the most expensive thing I can take at this price point. I'd gladly go with i5, but that would add about 70€ for 4460. - MoBo: B85?! Yes, the main reason I took this is because of its very low price. It still gives all the features that are required, including 6 SATA ports. - RAM: Pretty much the cheapest 8GB stick I could find and it's from Crucial, which I have been buying for all my builds so far. I went with single stick over 2x4GB kit because it's much cheaper. - PSU: I think 400W PSU will be enough for Intel CPU and Nvidia card.. Took Johannes's recommendation into play. 500W PSU, which was actually only 3€ more but I missed it... - GPU: 960 seems like a good idea, it's about as powerful as 770, which is already a really good card for 1080p gaming. 280X also came across my mind, but it's about 30€ more, so I kept this. 280 seems a better deal than 960 at the moment. - HDD: 1TB 7200rpm, not much to talk about this. Some might argue between Seagate and WD, I've used both brands over the years and both of them failed as much as the other, so for here it just came down to the price. I would love to include a SSD, but after talking to my friend we came to the conclusion that he will get it a few months later when he saves up some more cash. - Case: He will reuse his old case, which is still perfectly fine. It's not really anything fancy, but with these components, I believe the heat wont be much of a problem. I would be glad to hear from you all. What would you change? Edit: Changed 2 components.

How long should I run the Aida64 stress test ?
mucitel1 replied to Ikaros18's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
If it works fine as it is then leave it at 1.18. -

How long should I run the Aida64 stress test ?
mucitel1 replied to Ikaros18's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I'd personally leave it on for about three hours for gaming rigs and 6 to 12 on video editing rigs. - Think about for how long you usually game or do CPU-heavy things then leave it running for at least that long and then some more. For the overclock voltage you'll have to find the right balance, because every CPU is slightly different. For example I'm running my G3258@4.5GHz 1.28v, while my friend couldn't get it to 4.5GHz under 1.4v. I don't know why you'd want to lower 1.18, I'd up that to 1.25 - 1.3 and try to get higher frequency if possible. -
If I won this processor I would be able to get back in YouTube game, since I downgraded to G3258 because of money reasons.

I understand that, but I also want the battery to last for a long time, around 6h, which one would be better in battery regard? A slightly more powerful laptop is useless if it's out of juice.

Me and a friend of mine are are looking for a new laptop for school for about €300. Currently, we are deciding between these two laptops: Acer Aspire E5-511-P7AT and Lenovo IdeaPad G50-45 Specs: Acer Aspire: Intel Pentium N3530; Intel HD (Bay Trail) GPU; 4GB DDR3L; 500GB HDD Lenovo: AMD A6-6310; Radeon R4; 4GB DDR3L; 1TB HDD I believe the Lenovo would be faster both CPU and GPU wise, but my main concern is battery life hence it's for school, where I'd expect the battery to last at least around 6 hours. Also the lenovo's HDD appears to be SATA 2, don't know if that would have a major performance hit, but I'm expecting to replace the HDD with 120gb SSD when I get some more money. So my question is: Which laptops battery would last longer? Which one of these should I pick up? Don't recommend other laptops apart from these two, please. Edit: Both laptops come without OS, because I'll install my own copy I got for free from Dreamspark

LG G3 Review and.... TWENTY-FIVE Phone Giveaway?!
mucitel1 replied to LinusTech's topic in LTT Releases
What I like the most about this phone is that there are no side buttons. I constantly click lock/volume keys when I'm trying to use my phone in the bed or just when I try to put it in the car mount thing. So annoying. -
Wow thanks, I really appreciate these links. I'm not sure how legit these sites are (the audiopro site didn't even try to change the default joomla favicon...), so I hope everything will go well

I'm serious, these are the only headphones I can find in my country... I didn't list any 'fashion' headphones and it seems those are like the only things you can get here. I'm probably better off buying headphones from Germany and pay that 20€ shipping fee... I guess... will look into german resellers.. Hope they are better... Searched for all of those, the only thing i found was Qpad FX36 mousepad, Sennheiser RS 180, which are out of my budget and Sony MK200. I will try to search for these on german sites and pay 20€ shipping fee.
