  1. I might be trippin' and was looking at raw spec performance instead of real-life performance. So do you think I should stick with @RONOTHAN##'s build or do you suggest me switch over to AMD?
  2. This build looks solid. You think it'll be fine if I switch up the RAM + Storage based on Micro Center availability? Also if I buy from Micro Center, do you think the BIOS would already be updated to support the 12th gen CPUs?
  3. can you explain how the Ryzen 5 5600 would outperform the i5-11400? AMD in this option is ~$50 more for equal if not less performance from what I saw.
  4. unsure how much the 1070Ti is going to be but I would it expect it to be <$300 as in $300 is the max I'd pay for it.
  5. Budget (including currency): $1000 USD Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: LoL, Minecraft, those type of games so nothing too serious. Mostly going to be a productivity/workstation build for school. So some engineering/CS programs should be able to run. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Don't worry about peripherals. 1080p - minimum 60fps but probably going to aim around 120+. Brand new build, will probably buy all parts from a local Micro Center. I have compiled a part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/n8H3wc. Also planning on buying a 1070Ti from a friend so don't worry about the GPU. I would just like suggestions to squeeze every last bit of performance from the parts so I would like suggestions on which parts I should switch out or change... Thanks!
  6. Oh, I forgot to mention that I want a fully modular PSU
  7. Budget (including currency): <=$800 (basically as cheap as possible) Country: United States of America Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Games like VALORANT, CSGO, etc. medium-intensive games. Very light photo editing, video editing, everything university related. Other details: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/HnJn4d - part list but it's the very minimal. I'm getting a deal from a friend for the GPU so DO NOT CHANGE that. For the RAM, I just wanted to find one as cheap as possible so someone is willing to sell me that but I know that Ryzen CPUs are very picky so a little more money on that, I can do. Peripherals do not need to be included- I have everything already. I just want yall's thoughts on this and how to make this part list as efficient as powerful without spending too much money.
  8. We would need a budget if you want the most performance for your buck. The laptop you have chosen will perform very well in Warzone but in my opinion, I would never get that laptop because of how 'gamery' it looks with all those red accents. If you want something more subtle (but will run hotter), you can get the MSI GS65 or you can spend more money and go for the MSI GS66.
  9. Since the Vivobook is a laptop and you cannot efficiently upgrade the GPU, I would suggest you learn to build a computer whenever you have the time and money.
  10. Is his monitor plugged into the correct gpu?
  11. I would always choose an NVMe since you can still get more than 500 GB with <150 dollars
  12. Firstly, how can you repurpose the CPU and GPU to a desktop? Aren't the parts from the laptop soldered onto the mobo of the laptop? Literally everything is different...?

If it idles at those temperatures, you probably would need to take a look at your case ventilation. The temperatures aren't high enough to do any actual damage so at the current moment, there should be no problem.
  14. faulty psu? have you maybe switched out the psu to see if it issue still persists?
  15. and what's the reason? I just want to know why.
  16. Hey, so I'm planning to put liquid metal as my thermal paste in between my CPU / GPU and heatsink. I just want to know if anyone has already done this and can give me any suggestions. I know that it is dangerous (copper will be partly ruined from the gallium, short circuiting, etc.) but I'm willing to take that risk... for the temperature gains! (basically, don't tell me not to do it. unless there's a legit reason ty) :pp If anyone has done it with any other laptops, I just want to know how y'all did it and what the results were. Also, please give me tips on how you guys did it because this is going to be my first time messing with liquid metal + opening up a laptop this complicated.
  17. You shouldn't really be worried about your desktop resolution ruining your battery life because the resolution only contributes to how many pixels your GPU has to render and even with an iGPU, that should be no problem. I would look into any specific background tasks that may be running and optimizing windows for battery. General Windows tips for longer battery: - turn on power saving mode (battery icon, drag all the way to left side) - lower brightness if possible - close all unneeded background programs (taskbar -> up arrow -> right click -> quit/close) - turn off any peripherals or keyboard lighting if applicable - undervolting (only if you know what you're doing, dave2d has a nice video on how to lower thermals on a laptop [it also reduces battery usage to a certain extent]) - etc. (you can always find articles/videos online that tell you how to reduce general battery usage on a laptop)
  18. That's literally impossible sir. Explain to the someone that 4K at respectable speeds would need something more than £450.
  19. This is a solid build but if you want even faster speeds from your hard drive, buy an NVMe SSD.

kochou shinobu?!? sorry i haven't been on LLT f…

o I mean't the anime--season one. I also just got caught up to the manga (chapter 180) so that's cool. are you updated with it? cause something not so great happens to someone ;((
  21. kochou shinobu?!?

  22. is your psu supplying enough power?
  23. I would think that your wifi card would not be strong enough to handle the full speed, thus lowering your speeds...
  24. *sounds likes you're trying to do something illegal...* but to answer your question--yes but it'll be a lot easier if you had access to the usb's contents so you can execute the thing that you want. can you execute it only by plugging it in or is there any other way?
  25. If you buy from an Amazon trusted seller, then you will almost be 100% able to return it. If you have prime, you get even more benefits, such as free returns but many sellers already do that. Just remember to read the notice page
