Move everything to the original drive, install windows on second drive, move important files(pictures, documents, saves/profiles for programs etc.)
Wipe original drive or whatever you had planned for it.

iamthecpu reacted to Master Disaster in Question for the custom loop guys
Once your loop is built and tested leak free you can leave it running 24/7 if you choose. The only consideration is maintenance which SHOULD be done every 12 months however when I had my loop I used to do it every 24 months and Jay has gone on record as leaving loops for years with no ill effects.

Maintenance involves stripping the loop down entirely, cleaning the rad out with something usually acidic or alkaline, cleaning the pump out, cleaning the block out and preferably changing the tubes (assuming you have soft tubing). Its REALLY important to do it if your running a coloured fluid or a show fluid, not so much if you run clear and you can get kits that you mix with water and put into the loop (after draining the old fluid out) to clean everything without the need to strip everything down.

It's a good drive for sure,  I've used it in some NUCs, and yeah you can boot from it. the one thing that I would say is that unless you have a large HD or SSD in the same computer, i'd go at least 500 gig

the krakens are real expensive ;v;  and i'm not gonna need super high end cooling for what i got planned, just as long as it keeps the cpu under 75 im happy

air cooler wise, i kind of want to try liquid cooling since i had a noctua one before that

Running a loop 24/7 isn't an issue mainly people worry about the pumps dying due to the long run time. Once you properly leak test and bleed a loop it's unlikely to leak suddenly unless something has failed. In most cases checking seals and changing old orings every so often can help prevent any chance of leaks occurring.

Pretty vague over all. 1080ti’s dont oc well. Whole 10 series actually. Either go cheap or strix. Result will be the same. Assuming you are doing this for looks or some king of overclock record.

So no budget limit then huh?

ok , I recommend a threadripper. Well actually , a quad socketed 2011 board would be faster provided you can make use of the extra cpu's. I supposed I'd recommend either of those seeing as we have no budget limit. Both should be quite good and suit your needs.

That motherboard can't handle anything above an i5 for power delivery purposes. Look for a used CPU like one of the "s" SKU i5s. The 4460S would be a perfect HTPC CPU.

Yes, personally I would go with the 1060 as it has another power source and does not require the motherboard for all it power

It should work fine. Preferably it is a PCI-e 3.0 slot to provide the max bandwidth, but 2.0 or 2.1 is fine, just no 1.0.

asus aurora sync will only work on asus motherboards and with asus cards. Unfortunately their is no unifying software out there to my knowledge. To answer you question this will cause issues with your computer.

What size do you want.  A WD Blue is always a solid choice for a 1TB drive.

As for installing it, just connect it to the motherboard with a SATA cable (buy one if you don't have an extra on hand) and connect it to your PSU with a SATA power connector.

Edit: This is assuming you have a desktop.  Is it a laptop?
