That reminds me of the time I walked into an architect firm and they all had 780's in their systems at the time instead of quadros/teslas. -
If you're into building custom loops and love EKW for your gpus then you may need to check the model number of your ASUS 1080TI before you go all gun ho on you loop then realize that the water block doesn't fit. Asus seemingly made enough changes to their pcb design that it's not compatible with current EK Gpu water blocks for their 1080 Ti. Just keep your eyes peeled and share this with your friends who maybe looking into buying a water block in the near future. Still anti consumer. That's like manufactures forcing your laptop to down clock when the battery is going bad instead of telling you that the battery is going bad. Phones are capable of telling you such but apple's approach is plain wrong and dishonest. -

Most OEMs support the device for 2 OS cycles then stop, but throttling performance because the battery is bad is dumb, how the ass am I supposed to know the batter is going bad if you're doing all that extra curricular bs in the background. It's not good for the customer in the end. -

Still doesn't change the fact they don't need presence in mobile to make money. That's like saying nvidia or intel need to make their presence known in the mobile market to make money, they don't. It's quite normal for a company microsoft's size to want to grow into other established markets and try to gain market share. Sometimes it's a massive success other times it's a massive bust.
