  1. You can find an OC bios here. windows updates hasnt affected anything. quick google search and anyone can learn how to disable win 10 auto updates http://www.play3r.net/overclock/overclocking-news/intel-non-k-processors-can-now-be-overclocked-on-z170-bios-files-inside/6/
  2. 2 disadvantages once you OC past 103bclk temp sensors get disable. your motherboard has a cool feature where you can monitor temps via the post code led so this disadvantage doesnt affect you. avx instructions get disabled . this may or may not affect programs you run if they are avx enabled. basically there are only benefits i know there is a compatible oc bios for your board out there if your current one doesnt support oc im not sure how far the 6700 non k will go
  3. are you still on impact? B-die runs better for me on win 7 x64 for some reason with mem limited to 3GB. here is my fancy pants ram pot.
  4. do you have a ram pot? cpu seems fairly strong ... ram timings\frequency seems a bit off for you. ive had bad luck with win 10 x64. all i get is kmode bsod's .
  5. also the max turbo frequency is 3.8ghz. that may only be on a single core and 36x on all cores under load. (you may be able to get 40x, some of these chips give extra bins) your mainboard will have to support enhanced turbo if you want to get 38x on all cores, not all boards do. if you have a setting called enhanced turbo or multicore enhancement make sure its enabled. also try setting the multiplier if you can some boards will not turbo all cores to max frequency on locked chips, even with c-states set correctly and on a single thread load. there is a work around but you have to disable all but one core.
  6. ENABLE turboboost all other settings look fine
  7. i use jriver for hi res audio vlc and power dvd for video
  8. well sure xtu benchmark uses same \ similar components \ resources as p95. it is close enough to call it a direct match. word it however you want, the core component is still p95.
  9. xtu benchmark = p95 ( avx enbled, confirmed by voltage spiking) xtu stress test = weak form of linpack ( i honestly dont think the stress test is avx enabled, voltage does not spike even with adaptive voltage) they are two different tests. You can check my youtube channel if you would like a better understanding of voltage spiking.
  10. xtu bench behaves the same as p95 in terms of adaptive voltage spiking. verified.
  11. always use manual voltage for p95. since xtu benchmark is p95 as well, yes use manual voltage There was NEVER a problem with p95. just uneducated users. P95 is fine, always has been. use manual voltage if you use p95....;
  12. Verified! xtu benchmark = P95 xtu stress test = weak form of linpack
  13. shelden the mem tab is the second most important, be sure to include it every time. good job keeping in touch with the legacies. nothing like a 2 dollar potato chip
  14. seems to be gone .... prolly just me. if anyone knows, link it plz edit- just me noobing out again. its still there, just moved towards the bottom of page.
  15. did we lose the guides and tutorials section? or I have i been snorting crack...
  16. I just think positive contributions like this one should get more recognition. You know maybe a sticky : ) Well hopefully the right person will take notice.
