  1. Have you done any overclocking? Also; try reseating all power cables!
  2. Have you checked the boxes in the settings under "General" called Unlock voltage control and Unlock voltage monitoring? You could also attempt downloading an older version of Afterburner Source:
  3. Reset the CMOS / move the Jumper on the MB. Take out all the ram sticks, and insert one of the sticks in DIMM1 (check your motherboard manual to figure out which slot is DIMM1), and try booting. Try reseating all power cables. You could also try a different monitor or cable.
  4. If i were you i would go for an I5, the single threaded performance of the old FX lineup from AMD is just dreadful. Going for the "cheapest" skylake I5 will give you much more value for your $ and i would recommend extending your budget somewhat. You should rather buy an SSHD instead of an SSD, that way you get more GB for your $, and should suite a budget build nicely.
  5. Multithreading will help a great deal with rendering videos and save a lot of time in the long run, so if that's a big hobby of yours and you have the money, it's easily justified going for an I7. Everything is the same except the CPU which is swapped out with the I7-6700k which is 4 cores / 8 threads. I feel inclined to tell you that you are able to get the I7-6800k which is 6 cores / 12 threads for 100$ more, but i doubt that you really need that. and choosing the 6800k also means having to go for another chipset.
  6. Are you able to boot into safe mode ? I recently worked on a computer with a similar issue, after a power outage it wouldn't boot into the operating system, but managed to boot safe mode. After many hours of troubleshooting i concluded that the motherboard was faulty, weirdly enough. That came as a shock seeing as that was the last on my list of suspects. I don't know what kind of hardware you have lying around but try swapping out one component at a time (if you have any spare lying around) to determine which one is causing the hiccups. Try swapping out the GPU, HDD, Motherboard, RAM. But this might also be a simple software related issue so attempting a clean install of windows would be a great place to start. Some motherboards / chipsets from Intel have been alittle wonky lately with the RAM, so i would also try resetting the bios with a jumper, physical reset button or CMOS and removing all RAM and only inserting one stick in DIMM1 (check your motherboard manual for which slot is DIMM1) This has personally solved a somewhat similar issue i had a little over a year ago. EDIT : To me it sounds like a software related issue, so i would personally start with a clean install of windows.
  7. The video card, power supply and storage solution you have are really good and are in no need of an upgrade, but if you need more storage i would invest in a old school HDD. I think something like this would suite you nicely A top of the line motherboard and a great CPU capable of overclocking with a nice cooler. As a sinner myself of having a million chrome tabs open in the background while doing some gaming i would say 16GB is the perfect amount of ram and shouldn't need an upgrade any time soon. Should you feel differently you could always just install another 16gig down the line with ease. You did not specify exactly what you want to keep and what you don't want to keep, so i did not include a case. But choosing a a case is very personal since there aren't any right or wrong answers (most of the time) and most of the time comes down to the aesthetics.
  8. They are pretty much the same in most aspects and you won't notice any difference between the Gaming 5 and the Gaming 7. The gaming 7 won't give you any more performance and the differences in most use cases is negligible. The gaming 7 may be advertised with more quality components, durability and overclocking potential but that is also negligible, and what you will end up paying for, by upgrading, is bragging rights and an inch or two on your dick. It's like buying a lamborghini for driving in dense city traffic.
  9. Wasn't aware that there are players that have that functionality , and using a raspberry pi didn't cross my mind. Thanks for the info \o/
  10. Hello i had this thought that would be kinda neat if possible. Let's say you have an USB drive with several songs you use for music while driving and it's songs are listed like: 1. songnameA - ArtistA 2. songnameB - ArtistB 3. songnameC - ArtistC but you want the songs shuffled every time it's plugged in/receives power so the songs order would be random (where the #. would be changed) so you would end up with a list that MAY look like this: 1. SongnameC - ArtistC 2. SongnameB - ArtistB 3. SongnameA - ArtistA Here would the list be "randomized" I imagine this could be executed with a self executing script that runs as soon as this gets power, somewhat like the USB Rubber Ducky http://usbrubberducky.com/ But it would have to be applied differently since the rubbery ducky uses a script that utilizes windows commands and keystrokes. I am aware that such a thing i am trying to describe would have to use a specific type of USB-Drive chip that is capable of running automatic scripts. TL;DR: is it possible to write a self executing script that can change filenames of the files a drive contains without going trough an operating system / just getting power? I am sorry of my explanation is lacking or badly described
  11. Greetings, I have a printer Epson XP-435 configured to be wireless, and i've successfully connected my laptop to it, but my desktop is not able to find it (searching the network trough the driver installation software). Neither computer is a part of a domain, and i am able to ping the printers IPv4 address from my desktop. The printer is connected to the 2.4Ghz band, not tried the 5Ghz band but can't imagine that it would cause any issues. The IP isn't static (can't imagine this would cause any issues either) and looking trough the setup print, the standard gateway and obviously the subnet mask is standard. Have anyone encountered similar issues, or have an idea i could try? NOTE: The laptop is connected to the same WIFI the printer is, and my desktop is connected to the same router using an ethernet cable.
  12. Ofcourse, the USB is a great tool, but this serves as a free alternative without having to wait for shipping.
  13. I just wanted to make this post in response to LinusTechTips newest video Hack any Windows PC in 2 minutes. I used to work as IT/Tech support in a consumer electronics retail store, and every so often somebody manages to add a password to the account or attach it to their Microsoft live account, after having to perform several formats i stumbled upon a great way to simply change the password, or create a new admin account. The reason i'm making this post is to help people trying to recover their account or user files without having to go out and buy one of those "keys" featured in the video. works on every version of windows all the way back to windows NT METHOD 1. Insert a windows 10 installation media (USB or DVD) and change the boot order in the BIOS. Confirm that UEFI and Secure boot are disabled. 2. After booting to the initial screen of the windows 10 installation menu press SHIFT+F10. 3. Now run these commands to replace utilman.exe(the icon on the lower left corner of the login screen) with cmd.exe. Before the replacement, make a copy of utilman.exe so you can restore it later. move c:\windows\system32\utilman.eze c:\windows\system32\utilman.exe.bak copy c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe c:\windows\system32\utilman.exe 4. Remove the installation media and reboot the machine, an easy way to do this would be typing this in the cmd. wpeutil reboot 5. When you are at the login screen, click the Utility Manager icon at the bottom left corner. 6. CMD should now have launched and you can type the following commands to create a new user account and add it to Windows 10 local administrators group. If the CMD did not launch, you should go trough step 1-5 again. net user <username> /add net localgroup administrators<username> /add 7. Click the Windows screen to make the sign-in page appear again. New created account would show up with other user accounts, and you can sign in Windows 10 with it, without password. You can also reset the windows 10 local user password with this command net user <username><password> It is not possible to change the password of a microsoft live account, but you can create a new admin user and retrieve the user files on the microsoft account, and disable the user account so it won't be visable at the login screen. This is pretty much a blatant copy of the OC. SOURCE: http://www.isunshare.com/windows-password/how-to-reset-windows-10-forgotten-password.html
  14. Trying to set up Folder Redirection But the GPO won't apply. I have tried running Gpupdate /force and performing a reboot, I did not get the thingy where I have to type Y. Here is the GP Result from the client machine The OU containing the Group and User account, the user account is a member of the Group. The Group scope of the group is: Global The Group Type is: Security GPO Scope: It is worth mentioning that the GPO is enabled under details And the GPO is linked to Test OU Where the user account and group is. Folder Redirection of Documents folder Share Users Share permission for Test Group if there are more information required please ask, I will reply asap. I have managed to do this exact (I think) configuration on a few VM's running on viritualbox, when comparing the configuration against what I'm doing now I can't seem to find a difference, I might have missed something though.
  15. So uhh.. I called the guy responsible for the exam and basicly said what the fuck. Turns out it was a typo on the exam papers, I am actually going to use 10.142.0.0 not 10.170.0.0 so it's all good.. But still, thank you a lot for the help, atleast I did learn something new!
  16. When first settings up the switch I get three options External, Internal and Private. I assume I'm going to use Internal, yes? I really appreciate the help you have given me!
  17. Hold the phone! I see something in the Hyper-V Management console called "Viritual Switch Manager" Can i use that somehow?
  18. I am currently performing a week long exam, and i have no access to the physical server or router + switch. I have been set up with a Hyper-V Server running three viritual machines, two 2012r2 servers (one i will use as a file and print server, aka not relevant) and the second server is the domain controller which also is running the DHCP role. and ofcourse the client running win10pro. The network they have set me up with is 10.142.0.1 So i presume i have to set it up without a switch. There are 6 VM's hosted on the Hyper-V server, three for me and three for some other dude doing the same exam. i assume 1.LAN -> 6.LAN is the VM's So how would i go about configuring 10.170.0.0 ?
  19. Hello my windows server is a set up as a AD DS, DNS and DHCP server. The network settings on it IP Address: 10.142.0.10 Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 (24) Default gateway: 10.142.0.1 Preferred DNS server: 127.0.0.1 I have a client on my domain, and i want to give it an IP in the range of 10.170.0.60 - 10.170.0.70 (this scope is for test purposes) I have configured a scope in that range (yes it's activated) but the client PC won't grab an IP adress from the DHCP server. I tried to set a scope between 10.142.0.60 - 10.142.0.70 and the client PC grabbed an IP right away, exact same settings on both scopes (exept the IP range ofcourse) Do i first have to configured 10.170.0.x as a network or some shit somehow?
  20. How do i reset a Airport extreme without deleting the data stored on it? Only factory reset the router part, not the data stored on the Hard drive storage.
  21. Hey guys, i'm trying to download and install the game plants vs zombies garden warfare 2, and it has this thing that you can download 1/3 of the game and you can download the rest as you are playing. At 32% it stops downloading and starts installing so it will be playable, but it get's stuck at 32%. the HDD has more than enough storage on it. i have tried force closing origin, deleting all game files, and retry'd on a different HDD with the same issue happening. i have also tried reinstalling origin. Any suggestions ?
  22. I think i found out what the cause is, gonna try contacting ubisoft.
