  1. Yet several people I know have big problems getting headsets/ear buds to work with their mobile devices. The last set my brother got only played music from the left speaker.
  2. I have no idea, I don't engage much in how these sites work. I have a basic idea about how content creators make their money on YT but that's about as far as it goes.
  3. I don't know how many follow Veritaseum on YouTube, but he made some interesting videos about Facebook and how they do business not too long ago. Very well presented, as you'd expect from Veritaseum. Is Facebook eventually just going to be a wasteland of posts no one can see and click bots?
  4. Well, I ended up ordering the Sennheisers, they should be compatible with an S3 so that should mean they'll work with an S4.
  5. Well, those are the kinds he doesn't want. Well, I've looked around and I've found a few. Pioneer SE-CE511i Sony MDR-AS200 AKG K326 Sennheiser MX 685 SPORTS And then I found some ultra cheapo ones like Koss KE5 and some rather quite expensive ones from Sennheiser. Don't know if these are any good, or if they'll work with a Galaxy S4.
  6. He's very specific that it should be earbuds and that he does NOT want the ones that go into the ear canal. I disagree, but hey it's his ears/birthday.
  7. So my brother is turning 18 on the 14th and he wants some ear-buds he can use on his phone(Samsung Galaxy S4). But he doesn't want the kind that actually go in the ear canal. This style: So what are some decent earbuds that are like those, that work with a Galaxy S4. Budget ~$60
  8. http://www.theverge.com/2014/2/8/5393208/flappy-bird-creator-says-hes-pulling-the-game-offline-tomorrow Game was not "Stolen" Dong Nguyen got more notoriety than he wanted, also he probably got a lot of crap from Nintendo fanboys because he used a graphic that looked like a Mario pipe.. Etc etc etc. I understand he didn't want to deal with that nonsense.
  9. EDIT: Herp derp. I figured it out, I had to go and install the drivers manually for the other card. Everything seems to work now, any Moderator/admin wandering past can feel free to lock/delete this thread.
  10. I just like water cooling better. There's a reason car engines went from air cooled to water cooled. Well, I'm not really going for the overclocking, and I'm not that anal about keeping the absolute lowest temperatures. Besides if I was going for air cooling I'd be in the other forum, you know the one called "Air Cooling"
  11. EDIT: No, I'm not looking for an air cooler. Please, I understand that air coolers are just as good or better, but it won't fit with my plans for how I'm using my case real estate. So after my previous thread about my water cooling unit being noisy I asked a couple other guys and as a result I ended up RMAing it, after also consulting my retailer. So now I'm looking for a new solution, or at least I'm researching options as the retailer does not carry the same cooler anymore. I can't quite remember what I paid for it in the first place, but I think it was around $130-ish(converted from Norway money). So that's about the budget I have. IIRC the Antec Kuhler 920 should cost about $99 in the US? In any case, what I'm looking for is a "single fan" radiator setup either 120mm or 140mm preferably a setup that comes with two fans included, or one that is designed for running in pull. It needs to fit in a Cooler Master Storm Trooper case in the rear "exhaust" fan port, which a 140 mm rad should do depending on how thick the fan is. Options I have been looking at: Corsair H80I Cooler Master Seidon 120XL Silverstone Tundra TD03 Cooler Master Nepton 140XL I like the idea of having a thicker radiator with push-pull rather than a slim one, surface area and all that and these are the ones my retailer has in stock. I have a AMD FX8150 at the moment, and I'll probably upgrade to a 8350 soonish™
  12. Just joined, only with a laptop for now, since my CPU cooler is in RMA-limbo for my main rig.
  13. Yes he did.. And in said video he mentioned the proper Dungeon Keeper 3, which is not in any way affiliated with Bullfrog or EA or Dungeon Keeper in any way shape or form. War for the Overworld is where it's at if you want a Dungeon Keeper game in a more modern engine. Here's a rather lengthy thread from the Cynicalbrit subreddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/Cynicalbrit/comments/1x069y/dungeon_keeper_2_this_is_why_we_cant_have_nice/ Pretty sure one of the WftO chimed in somewhere in there. I feel it should be mentioned that this, Dungeon Keeper Mobile, game has some pretty terrible practices as well. If you rate it in game with 1-4 stars it will only show you an in app confirmation page, if you rate it 5 stars it'll forward you to the Play Store, and it tells you that you'll get extra gems if you rate it positively. During the tutorial, which I played, it FORCES you to spend gems which it tells you it will replenish, but it doesn't quite give you back what you spend. So it conditions you to spend gems from the get go, it takes certain blocks 24 hours to mine, and it costs you $2.50 to mine out one block if you take the gem price and translate it to real money. Everything is just set up like every other cow clicker on the mobile market, and it is terrible.
  14. I had one standoff break when I recently moved my parts over to a Storm Trooper, but that actually wasn't the standoffs fault all the standoffs went in just fine, but one of the screws I used was either getting cross threaded or *something* but I decided to try and force it and the standoff broke. So yeah, I've currently got one standoff just kinda hanging there, but it's just one so I can't be bothered to fix it.
  15. I'm oldschool, the "-----------------------------------" is what I've done for years to mark the end of the quoted article. But ok, I put in the quote things. My avatar is a rusty piston inside a ~50 year old diesel engine, which is now running with minimal repairs having been done to it.
  16. http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2014/02/woz-interview/ ------------------------------- Well, that'd be a thing if it happened. I wonder how the fanboys would react to something like that.
  17. Thanks guys! Much appreciated. And it's not that huge, it's just really really tall.
  18. For whatever reason I've gotten a bit obsessed with remembering what my old PC case's name and manufacturer is, but I can't remember anything about it at all, and it seems I bought it from somewhere other than the usual place I buy PC stuff from. Because they keep the order history all the way back to the first time I bought anything from them and this case isn't on there. What I do know is that it's not an Avantech Medium tower w/300W PSU and it's not a Cooler Master Storm Trooper as those are the only other cases I've ever owned personally. Some pictures, I'm a terrible photographer and I couldn't be bothered to charge my camera for this, so phone pictures ahoy: Front, there's a door thing missing there to cover up the 5.25" bays The back, well, you can fit some kind of monster PSU in this thing it seems, nothing really special here. The only sidepanel you'll ever need to remove from this case, with a lock and easy access door handle. Oh and it has little feet. (Yeah, this is the second case I've ever owned 2006, not exactly modern) There's a plastic thing missing here, I think I tore it out because it was always in the way. But I think you could mount a HDD and a couple of 80mm fans on there with some plastic clip thingies. I'm pretty sure this was one of the very early "tool less" cases. It spanned the entire length of the case door and it would swing out on a hinge. Hard drive bays, these are noisy as all hell, no rubber vibration dampeners here.. Wumm wummmm wummmm wuwuwuwwuwu. Front plastic stripped off, as you can see you can fit a whopping 3 80mm fans in the front there(and two in the back and two on the side panel) And finally, as its main use is now to entertain my cat and me leaving random books and stuff on when I walk out of my livingroom: So, anyone have any idea who made this?
  19. http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/nbc-all-visitors-sochi-olympics-immediately-hacked_778718.html NBC: All Visitors to Sochi Olympics Immediately Hacked Richard Engel reported last night on NBC that all visitors to the Sochi Olympics are getting hacked as soon as their electronic devices connect to any Russian network: "As tourists and families of athletes arrive in Sochi, if they haven't been warned, and if they fire up their phones at baggage claim, it's probably too late to save the integrity of their electronics and everything inside them. Visitors to Russia can expect to be hacked. And as Richard Engel found out upon his arrival there, it's not a matter of if, but when," reports NBC's Brian Williams. Engel says, "The State Department warns that travelers should have no expectation of privacy. Even in their hotel rooms. And as we found out, you are especially exposed as soon as you try and communicate with anything." "One of the first thing visitors to Russia will do is log on," says Engel. "Hackers here are counting on it." They test the system in the report -- and are, as one might expect, immediately hacked the moment the test computer connects with the Russian network. "Malicious software hijacked our phone before we even finished our coffee, stealing my information, and giving hackers the option to tap and record my phone calls." -------------------------------------------- Well, considering the way the wifi is set up over there, I'm not surprised. EDIT: Cleaned up the text formatting a little.
  20. If you want to charge your phone quickly set it to offline mode or turn it off completely. I sometimes use my tablet's charger for one of my phones but I'm not entirely convinced it's all that much faster.
  21. Hmm, apparantly it's really sensitive to having the pump "upside down".. Guess I'll try to put it so the logo is the right way up and see if that helps... This'll make the hose routing a great deal more tricky... Oh well. EDIT: Hmm, seems to be a common enough problem with these things, I'll leave my case lying flat on the floor for a while and then put it back up to see if that helps, I think it's slightly less noisy now than it was when I had the hoses up top(which IMO would make more sense than having them on the bottom for air bleeding), also apparently it goes away after running it a few hours, I've only had it installed for 2 hours or so.
  22. Well, right now I'm sitting about 2.5 meters away and I can definitely hear it with the sidepanel on. It's the only thing I can really hear unless I turn up the case fans. Hm, I did download the latest software from Antec's site, and yeah I had it eliminated to the pump. I tried tapping the pump with my finger but it didn't really help, not any noticeable vibrations either.. So I think it's spinning too fast and causing cavitation, or it's just poorly designed with the same results.
  23. So this is the first time I've installed a closed loop CPU cooler thing, I've had it sitting on my shelf for a while and finally decided to take the time out of my day to install it. I'm not sure if it's quieter than the stock cooler or not tbh, the rest of the case is barely audible and the radiator fans are quiet too. I did a quick and dirty test by stopping the fans with my finger for a second(yeah not the best way, but whatever). Anyway, here's a sample, recorded on my phone holding it inside the case. (If you wonder what the sound around the 10 second mark is, that's me inhaling a bit sharply through my nose.) Um yeah, the pump is running at 2850 rpm, I can't seem to adjust it in any way through the dashboard thing regardless of what option I put it on, it sounds like a vaccuum cleaner when I ramp the fans up to full.. So is this a normal thing for these? I mean I did just buy it because I had some leftover money in my budget. EDIT: Motherboard is an ASUS Crosshair V Formula, AMD FX8150 CPU, case: Cooler Master Storm Trooper.. If you need more there's more specs on my profile
  24. No, just no! I knew it was coming but holy balls this just pisses me off.
  25. Well, it's whatever, I don't think Nintendo games are all they're cracked up to be other people love them. I think the new games are very samey, other people don't. It's all subjective.
