I love black and white builds, great job on the cable management. Those corsair fans are the icing on the cake for the appearance of the build

I recently started painting different components white as I am going for a black and white build..

Started with the EVGA SLI bridge. I used white matt acrylic paint which worked great with the brushed aluminium.
Next up was the OCZ 240GB SSD. It has an aluminium case with a sticker on it that was easily removed after i used my hair dryer on it.

I' thinking on painting some sort of black pattern it but haven't decided yet. Perhaps something similar to the blue stripes it had.

I also switched out the stock fans and radiator fans with the Corsair SP120 and a AF140.

While having the cards far apart is best in terms of temps and airflow, it's not essential. You can either move the cards closer together, or look at buying a long SLI bridge.

Ones that have large spacing tend to be designed for 3 or 4 way SLI, rather than long single link ones.

EVGA and ASUS have some fancy ones available, but they're expensive.

No, that's not why. Holy shit these people who think chrome uses 16gb of ram.

Is it just when you open it or does it continue.

You could lick the power button contacts and nothing would happen to you, the system would just power on.

It's not at all useful, unless you're literally using all of your RAM. Installing a secondary read cache uses up some of your memory, which is already being used as a cache, and thus you might actually lose performance.
The benefit comes in when you have so much data (think many tens of GB) that needs to be accessed quickly that, normally, it would have to pull some things from the disk because it can't fit everything into system memory. In this case, a secondary cache will help you, because while some of that data is in memory (which is faster), the rest won't be on the disk, but rather in the SSD.

TL;DR -- not useful unless you have monstrous workloads.

Does that include the RAM freenas OS uses? So 8gb is ok for 8tb + freenas OS?
