  1. When it first came out, the price was really good too. I actually tried to convince a friend to get it... Now he needs a case and the spec range prices almost doubled! Hahaha well that's here in South Africa. What water cooling parts and theme colors are you going with?
  2. Lol I can't blame you, I'd have trouble parting with my 300R how about the Coolermaster Mastercase 5? It's somewhat close to the spec one in regards to aesthetics
  3. You're talking about the Corsair spec 01 right? If you get a case similar to the specs of your current case it may be a tight or impossible without modding it. Are 5.25" drive bays necessary? A custom water cooling loop would look cleaner without it, unless you're going for a drive bay reservoir?
  4. I can't say I'm not jealous man really looking forward to see the final product of this build, I find the choice of HAF stackers rather good and the white makes it come out more. Are you going with tempered glass side windows? I admire the part where instead of getting white blade fans, you individually masked and sprayed your BeQuiet! 's
  5. Lol I live in South Africa, the hardware prices are higher here unfortunately I was hoping to go with a 6800k over 5820k since it's like a R500 difference but that goes into the price range of +- R7500 hahaha and I tried advertising it for sale but nobody wants a x99 board and the cheapest good z170 board is around R3500 so I'm hoping for a miracle here. Ultimately I just want a really good PC for a work rig, gaming is secondary make sure you post pics when you get the new cooler and cable mod! Looking forward to seeing it
  6. Great choices man. You are fortunate to be able to buy some of these for your first build I won a x99 ultra gaming mobo from Gigabyte and I'm still trying to comprehend the cost of a x99 build I'm Rekt basically. Lol enjoy the new rig! Maybe once you get your new EK Predator cooler get custom cables from cable mods for Detailed finishing touches
  7. The old abomination still looked kind of decent and the new one looks clean man
  8. we all make mistakes some time or the other at least you learnt from it though. Also, a PC friend or 2 always usually has spare thermal paste lying around that's saving a couple bucks next time
  9. You are not alone though man :'D my PC isn't running due to hdd failure and gpu and my dual core laptop is getting its ass kicked in Adobe and autocad software all the best!
  10. Probably get something that's actually going to be good for your use, I noticed extra ram for cad software makes a massively noticeable difference so 16gb is the sweet spot and get the most cores you can get since software use is all about running multiple processes simultaneously. And go with a decent Quadro or FirePro... If second hand is an option then that would help your budget a lot. I think for now a 1/2tb hdd would be more advisable for your budget then later on when you get extra cash you can always get a ssd.
  11. maybe try elevating it off the surface in any cheap way you can for now like swordsman247 said, and maybe check that no dust has entered and clogged your air intakes?. Also Don is right... Depends on your laptop and which cooler you pair it with. It would be disappointing to get a laptop cooling pad only to find out it doesn't make a difference and you can't return it so you lose money. Do your research and check out reviews on them Goodluck
  12. Lol. I was going to say the Razer edition H440 as well, that's what I plan to get. The EK water blocks configuration site also works pretty good to choose water cooling part for your hardware and needs. Check on the NZXT Facebook page, there's a cool Razer h440 water cooled build on there
