  1. Looking to upgrade my microphone some time in the future. Currently using a 5 year old Razer Siren. Mainly looking for something under $650 CAD and have good sound quality from about an arm's length away. USB vs XLR doesn't matter since I don't mind getting an external interface. Mainly looking for something to use for streaming and voice calling. Should be easily arm-mountable and work well with a pop filter.
  2. Hopping back into this thread with some updates: A reinstall of the OS did fix the issue, but only for a handful of weeks. A move to Windows 11 helps as there are more up to date drivers, have not had the issue reappear since moving, but I fear the problems might resurface in time. On Linux (Fedora 39) everything works normally so it might just be a problem with the windows drivers. The problem, according to people on the Asus ROG forums seem to relate to some sort of driver errors regarding power-state management and the ethernet controller not awaking from a low-power state. The issue is entirely in Asus/Intel's hand, at least on windows. Some people have found tricks to fix mitigate the issue (usually disabling some power management features in the bios or messing with tcp buffer sizes) but to my knowledge none of these are reliable, permanent fixes .
  3. Yeah, my whole music library is like, 80gb+ in size (Mostly FLACs) If I use an external card reader on the SD the transfer seems to work fine so I'm wondering if this is an issue with Android/Windows device management
  4. Just got a new SD card put into my phone and have been having trouble transferring music files off my PC into certain folders. The files are being transferred over a USB C to C cable. Seemingly at random, certain files will cause the transfer to fail. There will be no error message just the generic windows 10 error sound. This only seems to happen with specific files as the rest of the folder will transfer it's contents over normal if I omit that file. I can copy the file outside the folder it came in, but it will not let me move that file into the directory it initially was copied in. This seems like a fairly obscure issue so I'm wondering if anyone knows that the cause might be?
  5. Recently completed a new build featuring the Asus Strix X670E-A Motherboard. It worked fine for a few days suddenly the Ethernet jack stopped working. Wifi still functions normally but unless I spend an hour fudging around with drivers the ethernet jack refuses to work. When it fails it usually complains that it "knows" it's connected but whines about configuration errors like not being assigned an IP address or other connection problems. I've read that the i1225-V Chips on the boards are famously bad, but wondering if it could be a driver/firmware issue. When I completed the build I did carry over both SSDs from my old PC to avoid starting again from scratch, so I'm wondering if the old drivers from my last rig could be casuing problems with the new hardware and if a clean install of windows 10 should solve the problem. If all else fails I do have a seperate gigabit ethernet card I could install and use instead (plus 2.5G NiCs are relatively cheap so there's always that option too)
  6. Does anyone know of a simple automatic backup utility for windows? I don't need something fancy as I just want something to backup some files to an external HDD I have, and would rather automate the process or at least make it simpler.
  7. Used to own a Razer Blackwidow 2015, and one of the best features was the ability to switch macro profiles when a given application launched and switch back when the application closed. I specifically used this for a variety of CSGO binds. Well, a couple of years ago that keyboard died and I bought myself a Glorious GMMK Pro with some custom switches and caps, but I found the the Glorious Core software is kind of trash, as far as customization goes. I was considering flashing it with QMK firmware and was wondering if there's some sort of app/interface that could bring this functionality back, either on the firmware itself or via some third-party plugin/app
  8. Someone recently set up a GitHub Repo of a bunch of Open Source alternatives for many Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) utilities. Whilst most are for more organization/business needs, I'm sure there are many projects in the repo that people will find interesting or useful
  9. Need some help, My computer doesn't seem to want to update my windows: Whenever I select "Update and Shut Down" or "Update and Restart", my computer does said actions, but without applying the update. The Windows 10 update is update version 1511, 10586. Specs: i5 4690K @4.0GHz Gigabyte GA-Z97MX Gaming 5 Geforce GTX 970 4GB Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB (2x4GB DDR3 1866MHz) Kingston 120GB HyperX Fury SSD Segate 1TB HDD
  10. A nuc would be great for a small linux box or a some sort of media PC for shows, movies ect.
  11. I would certainly use it to upgrade an old X58 machine we have lying around
  12. He can give you better internet/TV/Phone We've been able to get more TV channels, free upgrades, and lower phone bills just be arguing enough. If they refuse, threaten to switch, and watch how they come crying to you and give you better service for them to keep you
  13. call them up, give them shit for it. We've done that before and it does work if not, switch to bell or someone else like that (Canadian ISP are crap tho' Bell Alliant offers 80/50 for over $160 month)
