  1. What devices are you talking about ? DACs in general or just these two popular devices?

     

    Not DACs. These are devices that supposedly clean up the USB connection itself. The two tested are the AudioQuest JitterBug and the Uptone Regen.

     

    Obviously, this is just one set of measurements, so they could be flawed in some way. But this is the first objective examination of the performance of USB "decrapifiers" that I've seen.

     

    It's worth noting that AudioQuest also sells other snake-oil products, like $1000+ HDMI cables.

  2. Added a forum post with measurements of two popular USB "decrapifiers". These devices are widely lauded by audiophiles as bringing significant improvement to USB DACs.

     

    As is to be expected, they do nothing to improve measurable audio quality. In fact, they make it worse, which makes sense given the real-time nature of isochronous, asynchronous USB.

     

    These devices are even LESS beneficial than little bags of rocks - and just as much a waste of money.
