  1. The roads are smooth and I'll be driving knowing I have a PC with me so given how the 3050 isn't a heavy card I probably just have to cover the case so it doesn't get any scratches, same with the monitors as you and @DreamCat04 said. Now that I think about it, moving my ergonomic chair is a harder ordeal unless I disassemble it. And I tightened the screws again just yesterday.
  2. Hello Everyone, I am about to move out to a new apartment and will be moving my things myself along with some helpers. I am concerned about how I will be transporting my PC and Two monitors safely. It is a mid tower case with an RTX 3050, I think it is a small card relatively speaking and I would be transporting it so that the graphics card is vertical perpendicular to the ground. However since I have never transported a PC before I am not aware of any issues that may happen. I also no longer have the boxes for the PC or my monitors so your advices on what I can do to transport them safely is highly appreciated. Thank you so much
  3. Okay I'll be taking this then. Thanks a lot for your time.
  4. I live in Southeast Asia, is this the AOC 24G2 your are referring to? It's even cheaper than the MSI G241 and at the same price as the LG monitor. The seller is the official AOC store.
  5. I looked through other offerings from MSI and I found the MSI OPTIX G241 24", is it the same as the 27" model but just a bit smaller? It also has a negligible ~$5-8 price difference with the LG.
  6. I've just finished reading, I suppose my next question would be "am I in buying in the right price range?". I don't mind paying a little more because cheaper doesn't automatically mean better value. It's just that if I go above the price range of these two (and the MSI one in this instance) the only feature I see that's different is built-in speakers or 240+hz refresh rate which I don't want. In retrospect this entire post could also be "Is spending ~$70 more on an MSI monitor over LG worth it for what they offer?" Of course it could very well be subjective but I also want to hear your answers anyway.
  7. Unfortunately not, I live away from the city and even if I go visit the store there is no assurance that both would be in stock. But regarding the sRGB values advertised, is there a significant difference between the two? I've checked all of their specs and all of them are listed as "anti-glare", a quick google search also tells me a glossy finish looks more vivid by comparison. My room doesn't get bright at all, does this mean I should be looking to get a monitor with a glossy finish if I'm placing a lot of value into how it looks? Edit: Yeah as far as my google searching is going, I don't think they even have Gaming monitors with a glossy finish.
  8. Currently I am using a Benq GW2283 I got it on sale for less than $100 and used to be my 2nd monitor for my laptop. Now I'm looking for an upgrade, I'm eyeing the MSI OPTIX G273 and the LG 24GN600-B. They both have an IPS panel and high refresh rate, both features I'm looking for. But I don't exactly understand what makes any of these better, the MSI monitor is $67 more expensive than the LG. With the difference of the two being: MSI: 27" , LG: 24" MSI: sRGB 131%, LG: sRGB 99%, Benq: sRGB 99% MSI: G-sync, LG: Freesync The brightness are in the same range and I most likely won't be having the monitors at full brightness anyway. A main concern of mine is buying the display that looks the best within 1080p. With these out of the way I have a couple of questions, specifically: 1. Besides the higher refresh rate and larger size, what exactly makes these two options a better upgrade? 2. Both the Benq monitor I'm using and the LG monitor have 99% sRGB, does this mean if I play the same game at 60fps (I won't but let's make this an example) on both monitor on the same brightness would I be able to perceive any difference? 3. How noticeable if any is MSI's specification of 131% sRGB compared to 99% sRGB? Because both the LG and MSI monitors are IPS 144/165hz monitors with one being quite a bit more expensive than the other.
  9. Thank you for your input, I have some other questions but I'll just make another post about it as I believe it deserves it own post.
  10. Regarding resolutions, would how "sharp" or how "good" it looks depend on how close your eyes are to the screen? What features should I be looking for to have in a monitor because I'm not planning on upgrading anytime soon after that and I'd rather get all the features that makes sense.
  11. I've been slowly building up my PC starting from an R7 5700g to adding an RTX 3050 a couple of weeks ago. The last upgrade I'll be doing for now is a monitor upgrade. Regardless of the resolution I'll be buying a high refresh rate monitor. The games I play regularly are Dota 2 and Genshin Impact where Dota 2 is an esports title I don't mind turning down the graphic settings. For Genshin Impact, I have all settings turned up to max with GeForce now filters for sharpening and brightness at 60fps with 90% GPU utility. This game is also capped at 60fps as of now. The list of games I play for now are: Elden Ring Modded Skyrim Civ 6 EU4 GTA5 Witcher 3 Monster Hunter World (for some reason I can't get DLSS to work even if Fidelity is turned off, do I need a 1440p monitor and above for it?) For the newer games I'm banking on DLSS in the future if I can't run it natively, do I need to have a 1440p monitor and above to make use of DLSS? What's the max brightness should the monitor have? What about must have features? This is beyond what I know and I'm very thankful for your inputs.
  12. I'm buying from the Philippines where most the GPU apocalypse isn't nearly as bad as it is in the west. I'm personally using an R7 5700G the past few months while waiting for a discrete GPU which I can't exactly do with this build since he'd have this own GPU as well by the end of the month.
  13. Just the other day my brother's old AIO PC for online class had a hard drive failure. It was due for an update anyway and we we're going to buy a new PC for him. Unfortunately I am not sure if I am able to procure an RTX 3050 for him which we planned, he must have a PC ASAP for classes and we're not budging on not getting an RTX 3050 (for reference it's actually significantly easier to find here compared to western countries). I was supposed to get a Ryzen 5 3500X for the PC but I've been told it won't be able to output any video and I should get an Intel CPU instead which could still function for attending class online whilst we wait for the GPU to arrive. TL;DR I need to buy a PC ASAP for class but GPU availability is not sure. Can I still attend online class (zoom, browser) with an Intel CPU instead of a Ryzen one? What is the R5 3500X equivalent for an Intel CPU or better yet, what CPU should I pair a 3050 with?
  14. Hello, thanks for your input. Have you heard anything about Palit? I think they're mostly operating here in Asian markets so I'm not sure if the lower cost is because they're closer and have to pay less for logistics or if its because they cheap out on other things.
  15. As the title says, I managed to find a PALIT RTX 3050 DUAL 8GB NE63050019P1-190AD at relatively low price... lets say around $100 more and that still fits in to the range I'd consider paying more in the current market. Anyway, looking at the Manufacturer's specification it is listed as having a base clock of 1552 Mhz which is lower compared to the Reference card at 1777 Mhz. I've heard of GPU being sold overclocked out of the box but I've never heard of it being underclocked. What exactly is the situation here? I suppose I can just manually boost it to 1777 Mhz or even higher but the fact that it is sold at a lower clock makes me doubt its cooling capabilities. As for the brand Palit, I've heard of it before but I have not considered it and would rather buy the more expensive competitors like EVGA, ASUS, and MSI.
