  1. What about the Lenovo Yoga 730? I am liking the 720 though.
  2. I would like a 15" and under or near $1000
  3. So I want a laptop that can do school and light gaming. I know there are many that are good at this but I also am looking for a laptop that you can draw on. So I want to know if there are many laptops with this ability. I know of the Surface Book but that’s too expensive for me.
  4. What are audio files? Just sound that is uncompressed or something?
  5. So I have the Sennheiser HD 558 headphones and I know they're kind of a budget pair of headphones but they're still what I consider expensive and I think they should sound better than they do now. I got the Massdrop Minimic to put on the side of it and make it into a nice headset but I am no longer using my Blue Yeti which I was using the built-in sound card which sounded nicer than my rear audio. I am wondering if getting an internal sound card would improve my audio and if it would be worth it. I don't do anything professional I just listen to a lot of music which only sounds decent (I guess) and gaming. I did try a USB external sound card and It made my mic sound louder and clearer but it did not work like that for the headphone audio so I am still using the rear jack. I know that a lot of new motherboards have nice built-in audio cards but I do have a fairly older budget b85m board so I am not sure if it's the best. On a side note when I was watching reviews for my headphones a while ago a lot of people said they have a great soundstage because they're open back but I have never really noticed it or what it was.
  6. I need a new ethernet cable and I previously had a Cat 5e cable and I have 100mpbs down which I think is near the peak capability of that wire so I figured I would get Cat 6 since it looks cheap. I was looking at this cable and I would like to know if the 25ft variant is a good cable and sufficient enough for gaming and downloads. https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-RJ45-Cat-6-Ethernet-Patch-Cable-5-Feet-1-5-Meters/dp/B00N2VIWPY/ref=pd_sbs_147_6?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00N2VILDM&pd_rd_r=SYA83PTZPNXHCPKV5Y7A&pd_rd_w=753S7&pd_rd_wg=Mnh5g&refRID=SYA83PTZPNXHCPKV5Y7A&th=1
  7. So I believe I am getting some interference from my motherboard output and I am wondering what the solution is to this is. I was thinking an external sound card but don't know if the cheap ones are any good or what one to get. thanks
  8. So a few months ago I bought a Blue Yeti microphone in a good bundle with a game and it's a nice sounding microphone. Recently I have grown to not enjoy it as much because I've found having a microphone on your desk kind of gets in the way and is annoying. I am constantly moving it out of the way and having to reposition it so I can type on my keyboard easier. I guess I could buy a boom arm and such but I don't want that "streamer/YouTuber" look. I originally bought it just to have good mic quality when talking to others and do not use it for anything but gaming. I am looking for a headset with a good microphone so I can replace the dedicated microphone just so it's ideal for me. I ready have headphones so I was looking at the ModMic and I am not sure if it is worth it or not compared to an all in one or something
  9. Where would I watch the movies? Off a Blu Ray disk? Netflix? This is where most my confusion is because I don't know what supports surround sound and what I need to make it work with a TV. I am buying a new TV and don't know whether or not to get 4k or 1080p.
  10. Getting a good setup for watching movies has been something I've wanted to do for a while now and I don't know where to start. Some things I am confused about is where/how I would watch the movies and what things would I need to buy to accompany my TV?
  11. I have a multimeter but don’t really know how to use it
  12. So I want to repair my Panasonic TC-P50G20 and when I power it on I get no picture with the front light blinking 4 times. I’ve done some looking online and I’m getting different answers of which board may be at fault. I currently have the TV back off and am looking at the boards and I cannot find any visually obvious problems like a bulging capacitor or something. I’m willing to pay for a board to try and fix the TV as long as it’s not too expensive obviously but I cannot find out what board it is. If anyone could give me some advice I’d appreciate it. Thanks
  13. So I want to replace a hard drive with an ssd and move windows over to it. Do I use a program to clone the hard drive over the the ssd? If so which one? Thanks
  14. I've been looking into getting a gaming laptop and I saw that one CES video from LTT about the GPU and CPU right next to each other on the same chip. I am wondering if this technology is good and if it's going to be making its way into new laptops in the next year or so to increase performance and if it's worth waiting for.
  15. No, the previous TV is dead.
  16. How large is your desktop screen
  17. So I recently got my first 4k 49" TV which replaced a 1080p 50" and I was not impressed by the image quality while watching normal TV. I didn't really think about how my TV provider (Charter Spectrum) only streams in 1080p or 720p (depending on the channel) until after I saw the image quality. Needless to say the 1080p to 4k upscaling or 720p to 4k for that matter is not very impressive visually. This got me wondering to myself if 4k TVs are completely the norm or not because the only thing I know about that streams 4k is Netflix, Youtube, and other Netflix competitors I'm sure (I also think some TV providers stream a little bit of 4k as well but I'm not sure if every channel does). So are 4k TVs in yet or do these companies need time to catch up with the newly cheap 4k panels?

    Broken TV

So I have an old Panasonic 50" plasma TV (TC-P50G20) and It quit working recently and it's giving me a 10 blink code. I am wondering if there is a fix for it or if I need to buy a new tv, thanks. I did some reading on google and some said it was the main board or the power board but I don't know which.
  19. Yeah I figured it wasn’t a good idea to paint pcie or ram slots. When I first bought my parts I had a case without a window so I didn’t care about the appearance of the parts as much but now I want to get a windowed case to display my pc. My mobo has blue pieces and my gpu has orange accents so I’d like to paint both of them black so they match. So I figure now that I shouldn’t paint those slots that it might just be good enough to paint the chipset at least since it’s really the most noticeable I guess. So normal spray paint would be fine? I figured I would need some type of heat resistant paint but I guess the plastic gpu shroud or chipset may not get too hot.
  20. What would I paint a mobo chipset with? I want to paint the chipset headsink black and the sides of the ram slots. I would also like to paint the shroud of my gpu black. I am wondering what I would do and use?
  21. Will I be able to find a system at that price with an ssd though?
