  1. It's okay thanks for the help, I'll try to contact dell support now I guess.
  2. I removed the gpu and plugged the monitor into the motherboard hdmi port. No results
  3. I removed the gpu and plugged the monitor into the motherboard hdmi port. No results
  4. I've removed the cooler, reseated the cpu but got no results. I've discovered something though, that is one, removing the cooler without removing the motherboard is a pain in the bum and that the monitor goes into power save mode even when the computer is not turned on (sorry if this was supposed to be obvious).
  5. Well the fans are connected to the right slot so I'll try to reseat the cpu now. Will update in a bit
  6. This is my first time running the pc since I just finished building it. I tried removing a stick of RAM but that also doesn't work.
  7. I tried connecting hdmi to the io shield. It doesn't work
  8. The monitor accepts that the cable is plugged in and goes to power save mode right after that. If I unplug the cable it will say "No mini display port detected"

  10. I don't have a DVI cable right now so I won't be able to try that Thanks for the help anyways.
  11. So I've just finished building my brand new rig and ran into a problem. When I connect the monitor to the gpu's display port the monitor goes into power save mode and refuses to boot. All the components in the pc are working properly as far as I can see. My keyboard reacts and lights up, the cpu and case fans all run, the gpu lights up and the hdd vibrates a little and gets warmer over time. I use a dell U2515H monitor. I have tried to connect the monitor using a HDMI cable but to no avail. I've also tried other methods read online from other forums such as removing as much as you can leaving only what is necessary to boot, reinstalling the gpu, etc. I know this is not the monitor's problem as it connects to my laptop through HDMI just fine. Every single component of the pc is completely brand new. I also don't think I've fried anything as I constantly remember to ground myself. Any suggestions or help is appreciated, thanks!
