  1. Recently, I bought two servers, a rack, and a switch from a friend of mine. I've spent the past month getting everything set up and looking decent. I could've gotten it done sooner, but the rack he sold me had threaded, round holes instead of square holes that are more common for server rails, so I had to make some quick and dirty modifications and buy some extra components. All in all, I think it turned out quite nicely. The servers in question are a Dell PowerEdge R510 and R610. The R610 has 40GB of DDR3 memory, two Xeon E5620s and is used for virtualization. The R510 has 16GB of DDR3 memory, one Xeon E5530, and is mainly used for auxiliary services, like an Apache Guacamole server I have running. Here is a picture of it:

  3. It could be around Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
  4. The thing is that I'm excited and can't wait.
  5. The reason I'm upgrading is because my old PC has an AMD Athlon II X2 245, a GT 640, and 4gb of RAM, so I do need this upgrade pretty bad.
  6. I just joined and I'm too lazy to get a profile picture.
  7. A 500 Watt PSU from EVGA, it should be enough to power this.
  8. Okay, this build isn't meant to be one of the greatest and fastest build, but it can be built with parts from an old pc of mine and a budget of about $500-$700 dollars. I plan to get these following parts: Motherboard: MSI B150 PC Mate Link: https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Gaming-Skylake-Motherboard-B150M/dp/B015ZKJRTO/ref=pd_ybh_a_19?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=NTD4VZDD5RXKNBH341Q1 GPU : EVGA GTX 1060 SSC, hopefully it will be in stock when I can order it Link: http://www.evga.com/products/Product.aspx?pn=06G-P4-6264-KR RAM: 16 GB of DDR4 RAM Link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TY6A1LY/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER Processor: Intel Core i5-6500, or a Core i5 if Kaby Lake is released when I order these parts, even then, I would have to find another motherboard for it Link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010T6CWI2/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER Case: White Phanteks P400S Link: https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-Eclipse-Silent-Glacier-PH-EC416PSW_WT/dp/B01BLYA8LE/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1472675399&sr=1-2&keywords=phanteks+p400s Any other parts that I need, I will get from my older PC, like the PSU, HDD, SATA Cables, etc. Tell me what you think!
