  1. Reading the title, I thought I could swap the 15 Pro screen into the regular 15. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Or even, can anyone try to do that?
  2. Since you're living in Canada, could you update the pcpartpicker list on its Canadian's site to reflect the price better? Also, do you care much about ray tracing performance? Because if not, going AMD is, imho, a better choice. How much storage do you need based on your workflow?
  3. What card is going to be in the new system, and which one will be for the existing PC?
  4. So here are my lists: The AMD AM4 CPU list The AMD AM5 CPU list The Intel DDR5 list The Intel DDR4 list I went to make 4 different lists in case you prefer one over the other. I decided to upgrade your storage to a better and non-DRAMless drive for a peace of mind. Also, the PSU is also upgraded to a better one. To help you choosing which list to go, here are my advices: If you want the best performance for gaming out of the box, the AM4 build will serve you well. However, you'll need an USB drive with the latest BIOS version for the 5700X3D to work with your board. If you prefer future support, the AM5 will be your choice. The Intel builds can't go too wrong. However, I'd advise you buy the non-F variant for the additional iGPU for better encoding performance and ease of troubleshooting should your GPU is not working properly. Have fun with your future build!
  5. Do you need to save any shader mods? Do you wish to have more storage space? Also, what monitor are you having right now since I don't see one on the list?
  6. What are the games you're playing? At what resolution? What level of details do you accept? Also, I see a 3080Ti with a fixed price in your build. Is that because you have it already?
  7. So, in your opinion, I should be fine with external drives? Also, I looked at their teardown pictures and it look like they're basically OEM SSD enclosure with a M.2 in them. Does that mean you can swap them or is there a security chip preventing that?
  8. From what I can find, their new products are DRAM-less, unlike the old versions of them. That kinda bugs me a bit. future not in the meantime. your drive wont last forever either, so, i wouldnt worry about that i i were you. My apologies, what I mean is near-future usage, since I'll probably buy it in about a week and I've plans for using it already
  9. HI folks, I'm considering to buy either a 2 TB external SSD or a 2 TB M.2 with an enclosure for media storage and maybe game storage as well. The more I research, the more questions I have, so I hope some of my questions can be answered here. 1. Should I buy an external SSD or a M.2 with an enclosure? If external, are current new WD/Sandisk and Samsung products up to the tasks? 2. If M.2, is the USB 3.2 Gen 1 be the bottleneck for the drive and my future usage? 3. If M.2, do I really need to go for a PCIe 4 drive or a gen 3 drive will be just fine? (My speculation is since it'll be plugged into a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port, it won't matter too much) 4. If M.2, what do I need to know about the enclosure? I've read some posts about the RTL9210B USB chipset and some says it's good but other says it's bad TIA
  10. Well, at least you can still buy the skins using free-farming currency (with the option to buy extra loot boxes to gain more) albeit at 3 times the cost for that seasonal event or wait for next year to buy it at a regular cost
  11. Imo, Overwatch 1 lootbox system is the most balanced type of lootbox systems in the gaming industry. Shame that they moved on to the money-grabbing model of Battle Pass
  12. Also, it could be too late for Christmas if OEMs don't get their hands early to build machines. Judging what Microsoft is doing AI-wise on Windows 11, I have a bad feeling that the new Core series will have AI cores built-in
  13. I believe that everyone on LTT forum has known this "bad" Apple for a week. With the new flagship iPhone having the best and most powerful SoC Apple has to offer, heat will always be a problem since you can't defeat physics. Also, the new titanium frame has some of its spotlights as well because some were skeptical about Apple using actual titanium for the frame, not to mention grade 5 titanium (well, Apple did the so-called sapphire coating on the cameras dirty). And the frame is not made with full titanium but a titanium aluminum fusion. Then, this thought hits me. I haven't seen anyone link these 2 stories together, but could it be because Apple used aluminum for the "inner" frame, which the A17 uses as a type of heat sink to dissipate heat, is that the reason why the 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max are overheating?
  14. So it's a 7800XT but not actually a 7800XT? Or even a Frankenstein 7800XT and 7900XT?
