it really is no effort for me to swap a psu, i have 5 or 6 on the shelf so no worries and as i said i dont really care about the look but I'll test it with the integrated first to check but again the psu's in these are tiny little nobrand's so if it's acting up ill swap:) thanks for the reply tho;)

the dell has integrated gpu, so I'm adding the 470 just to free that up too

I was planning on upgrading my FX-9590 to an 8700K build but then the oil turned all worthless and mah job went *pop*, now I'm contemplating building a dedicated stream machine to ease of the load for the old gal while i stream I'we been asking uncle googs (google) for some advice but I'm not confident i have found all the answers I need... Basically what i have is an old Dell OptiPlex 790 with 8 gb 1333 mhz ram and an SSD in so i was wondering if that, paired with a gtx470 (for a monitor) and a capture card or usb capture device would be able to do 1080/30 and possibly 1080/60? I know the PSU needs to go but that I have a few lying around so i can jerry rig something that'll work.. I don't care how it will look... it's not supposed to be on cam anyway:)

aha ok! I don't know where I have it from but thought i heard something about having to have a i7 to do rendering... but thanx for clearing that out... I might have a lead on a i5 that i could probs get for free... I'll check the exact model and get back to you...

as I mentioned in my fist post, I was going to upgrade but a recent change in my economic situation have made that impossible now, My work load is basically I have a mosquito sice youtube channel and do gaming and tech videos hence i need it to do both gaming and rendering. if I could i would ditch it but I need to wait and at the moment it looks to be a long wait before I can do any major investments...

But can you do content creation on an i5? (I literally have no knowledge on intel so bare with me) I render videos at least once a week so that would be a requirement...

Let me start of by apologizing if this is in the wrong section, looked for a OC section but didn't find it.. Ok so backstory, I was going to upgrade to Threadripper (AMD fanboy), but Norwegian prices and recent changes in my economy has led me to be stuck with the old FX. So I want to push the most out of it, I have some knowlege about OC and IMO i should be able to do this but I for some reason just can't get this thing stable above stock, beginning to believe i have lost in the silicone lottery Setup: Motherboard: ASUS Crosshair v formula-z CPU: as said FX-9590 RAM: 16 gb corsair venegance 1600mhz 9-9-9-24 cooling: custom loop watercooling So what have i tried: I tried to google, just so thats out there I have tried the usual, leave the FSB to 200 and upping the multiplier to core speeds ranging from 4700 - 4900 and no matter what i do with Vcore it will not stabilize.. sometimes it will load windows and i get to log in before it either freeze or BSOD with different messages and sometimes just BSOD the second the lock screen loads. Memory wise i have tried XMP profile. I have let the motherboard handle the timing numbers but sticking the speed to 1600, same result. I have tried to lock down the timing with the speed on 1600, same result. but if I clear CMOS and just put the memory speed at 1600 the motherboard boosts the CPU to 5 ghz when gaming... I have checked all the power handeling settings I can find and set them to whatever the highest rating is.. So what do I want with this thread. Basically I'm hoping some skilled user on here hopefully someone with FX-9590 experience can join me in my quest to push this sucker to it's max... hell, I'd go so far as to skype someone to get help if i knew who to call (don't think ghostbusters can help) I ideally want to start with just Clear CMOS and go setting by setting cause I can't figure out where the problem is for the life of me... I'm running BIOS 2201 which at the time of writing is the latest I can find.

I'm trying to get freenas to monitor my GE Vh series Ups but I'm not sure how to set this up, I have tried to via the gui but it's just not working, keep getting status: error with no explanation as to what went wrong. Keep in mind this is an old ups, was actually given to me cause "it keeps beeping so the battery are probably dead" came home to find out it was the "no load" function, battery's are working just fine! Yey me! The username and passwords fields, are they for a user on the UPS or the Nas?

well, Im happy with mine so I'll stick to that... have been thinking of adding a second loop to the black mamba but I have to wait for the Enthoo Elite to be available first:) might get a aquabus fan controller first tho to get more controll over my other fans, I'we got my three radiator fans connected to the Aquastreams fan controller but I'm a bit worried they will be pulling more than 5W...

So I have been running a Aquatuning Aquastream XT USB Ultra for oh I dont know... 6 years ish? and I have seen A LOT of watercooled computers but all seem to run some variant of the D5... is there a reason why the Aquastream is not used by others? I mean, mine works great silent and effective and the buildt in aquabus is fantastic so i just don't see why it's "unpopular"... not naging about it.. just curious..

Here is a perfect example of what my problem is, when i convert in Handbrake i get these lines that you can see on my hand It's as if handbrake can't handle the movement... this happens even when I blink my eyes... looks terrible

Hey guys! I need some guidance with Handbrake if anyone feels capable... I want to use Handbrake to batch convert all my recordings from MTS to h.264 (MP4) but (open to other suggestins both on format and programs) and I need help with setting up handbrake to give me maximum quality, also is there a way to reveal the command line version of a preset, I have been looking into dropfolders to automate the process but it requires the CLI command as the standard preset it uses messes up the quality... I have looked into the CLI doc's but I guess im not smart enough to make sense of it... I use Premiere to edit my movies and for some reason it just removes the audio on the MTS files... even the adboe converter messes up this... so if anyone has an suggestion as to what to convert to, that is better than h.264 I am open to that to.. as long as premiere can handle it...

That app still sucks tho... I mean the update did help... but to be honest It's still beta at best... way to random if it will still be woking after you lock the screen, it keeps playing but the app is not active and when you try to open it it just gets stuck opening... and I am so tired of webview apps... like the YouTube "app" that is utter... (insert curse word) if the app support were on par with android I'd throw my Note in the ocean with a running start any day... Turned out to be the Asus that was faulty... RMA'd it and all is hunkydory now...
