  1. have you found a difference in performance between the chipset and cpu lanes?
  2. Can I have 2 normal ssds, and an nvme ssd connected to the board without a conflict in bandwidth and what is the appropriate slotting for each? I believe I have the ssds in the very first sata slots and I'm trying to figure out which m.2 slot to use.
  3. I plan on configuration for game streaming. So I want the cores for multitasking, with a 2 way sli config as well as putting the games on a m.2 drive. Would I be able to pull off this set up efficiently and not come into conflicts? I was thinking of running the cards at 16x but i assume if i got a 28 lane cpu, they would be 8x or 16x and 8x, though I'm not even sure if that matters much in performance. So as long as I have enough lanes on the cpu, I would be interested in saving money and going lower down the scale. What do you guys think of this overthinking? haha
  4. I submit the question of whether or not to pair an Intel 6850k with Asus X99 A-II motherboard. I plan on overclocking my cpu and ram, as well as have sli config with the use of 1 m.2 ssd. I want to know if i am taxing the mb too much when doing this and am i capable of this config with the 40 lane cpu. Please educate me as much as possible.
  5. I was reading about a certain post you were commenting in about pcie lanes with z170 and x99 chipsets. Thanks for putting the info out there, it helped clear things up a little more about my next build.

I was fighting about which route to go.

Your welcome and no problem. many people misunderstand that who situation.

  6. Thank you for the clarification. I have been reading a lot about pice lanes, graphics card slot saturation, and motherboard slot bandwidth til my head is a little woozy. I hope I can become a little more versed in the subject to make some educated decisions about my next build.
  7. I'd be very greatful if someone would clear up this compatibility dilemma. If i pair a 5820k (28 pcie lanes) with an Asus X99 II (https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/X99-A-II/specifications/), would i be able to 2-way sli down the road and still use the m.2 port. I think the M.2 runs off the cpu and not the chipset, so I'm wondering what speed it would bring the card down to (x8 or so), or if I'd even be able to use the M.2 and sli at all.
