  1. As for a recommendation, I would probably go with a 3600, as coffee lake cpus are out of reach for your motherboard, and you could get a 3600 and am4 motherboard for about the same price as a 7700k
  2. you will definitely be looking at a cpu upgrade next. Even if you don't notice much difference, that cpu is not future proof whatsoever, and you will eventually run across a game that is borderline unplayable.
  3. I had a ryzen 7 1700, MSI b350m gaming pro, and team t-force vulcan 16 gb ddr4 3000 ram kit. Originally, I was able to get my ram up to 2933 Mhz at cl14, alongside a cpu overclock to 3.9 Ghz. Just recently, I decided to swap out my 1700 for an r5 3600. It makes a huge difference in games, but I wanted to the get the most I possibly could out of it and get some overclocking in. I was able to get the 3600 up to 4.4 Ghz stable, but for some reason, I just couldn't get the ram to go past 2400Mhz for the life of me. Eventually, I decided to default the settings on my cpu overclock, just to try and tune the memory by itself. Using both bios and ryzen master, changing any settings that are memory related will prevent the system from posting. I even lowered the clocks and the system still refused to post. It's worth noting that I updated my bios prior to installing the 3600, so it's entirely possible that this is just a bios related issue. And no, I don't have any other ddr4 laying around right now to test with unfortunately. I'm going to keep tinkering, thanks for stopping by, please give me your thoughts and recommendations!
  4. Hi, I have been using this keyboard for about 2 years now: https://www.amazon.com/Redragon-KUMARA-Backlit-Mechanical-Keyboard/dp/B016MAK38U/ref For the past couple months, I have been having responsiveness issues here and there with the W key, until it got substantially worse just yesterday. I did some mild googling and searched around in the reviews, and vacuumed and cleaned the keyboard, but didn't reach a solid solution. I am not totally sure, but I think the keyboard came with some replacement caps and switches. I tried hunting them down but to no avail. I was wondering what the best thing to do is. I have considered buying a new keyboard (I have been eying the 63 key form factor for a while, I am a low sens fps player and use up most of my desk space for the mouse. Occasionally I make contact with the keyboard) but would like to figure out a way to fix the issue and keep my keyboard. I still like it a lot, and am low on cash at the moment. The exact nature of the issue is as you would expect, sometimes the w key works fine, sometimes it has no response, sometimes it will multiply its outputs, so a normal "what" might become "hat" or wwwwwhat". Any help is appreciated. Thanks for your time.
  5. Ive been trying to tell you that its NOT CONNECTED TO ANYTHING. In trying to demonstrate that to you in a video, i turned the cooler hard enought to drag the entire computer across the floor. And without pulling up on it at all, the cooler came out alongside the cpu from the socket. Fortunately, none of the pins look damaged, but the cpu is still stuck to the cooler like a brick. 20190125_171457.mp4
  6. What do you mean un screw it? Thise screws attach to the backplate, which is conpletely off. They dont come off of the cooler. And as for twisting it, like i said, ive been trying that all day.
  7. The technical answer is yes, it will fit, but unless you are running a really good z370 board, then you absolutely should not. Also the h80 probably wont be able to keep it from thermal throttling even at stock.
  8. Have been running ryzen 7 1700 for the past year or so and saw temps a tad higher than normal so decided to take a look at the ihs. Unfortunately, i never got that far. I unscrewed the cooler from the backplate and took the back plate off, but the cooler was stuck in place, screws dangling in the air. I knew that i absolutely shouldnt pull on it, because it is a pga chip, so i tried turning it left to right to see if i could twist it loose. Still didnt budge. Then i figured i should heat it and maybe that would help. Nothing worked. Even ran cpu z stress test, unplugged the cpu fan connector, and closed the case up and let it run for 20 minutes. Didnt budge at all. Now im stuck. Figured i might try calling amd support but thier hours are over for today. Ive been building pcs for a long time but never encountered thermal paste this stubborn.
  9. You would be saving maybe 100 euros on a brand new system. I would try to haggle them a little, but it's still a decent deal
  10. I would say wait for 32 core threadripper. it's coming out in about a month, and would cost around the same as the 7960x. also zen chips work fine with android developement.
  11. with fading sli support, that's a difficult question... I'm sure you will be able to find cheaper 1070 tis after the next gpu release, but it really comes down to what games you play right now. for instance, I play Destiny 2, which has outstanding sli support, and since the game is likely to last for another 2-3 years before the next release, I am confident in utilizing sli, even if it only functions in that game. So it's really more of a question for you to answer for yourself. I just gave you some things to consider before making an irreversible purchase decision right before nvidias next major release.
  12. if you are doing all that, I would recommend a 144hz monitor. otherwise you are wasting a lot of money going with intel/ watercooling. I would also either wait to see what nvidia releases in the next few months gpu wise, or just go with a 1080ti. a 1070ti will likely be about as powerful as the 1160 when it releases. so you will have effectively bought a mid range card.
  13. I found these systems: http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/9679794 http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/9674346 http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/9648574 http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/9720785 http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/9732344 http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/9438540 The final one was the nail in the coffin for me. I don't think there are going to be any issues with your system. The ramblings in the post you linked are 1 of 3 things. (1) Lies (2) issues that have been solved via bios or driver updates or (3) very unlucky individuals.
  14. I'm currently sifting through userbenchmark systems that have 2000 series cpus in them to see if I can find anyone with a gpu 700 series or less.
  15. Hmmmm... I am currently using a 780 ti with a 1700, but I don't see why a 780 wouldn't be supported by the newer cpus... That thread worries me as well... I think you should try contacting a reviewer that might have those components like techyescity or hardware unboxed to investigate. If this turns out to be true, perhaps it will get attention from AMD.
