  1. Across the board, in games, Intel still has the crown for gaming; but if you need to do workload tasks Ryzen is not that bad of a pick still.
  2. Believe it or not, with a little bit of man power the hyper 212 evo with fit on a 775 board without too much trouble. a tidbit of elbow grease might be required though
  3. make a pcpartpicker list! it helps you keep everything in one place and lets you compare prices and parts easily (and also makes it easier for us to do a once over) https://pcpartpicker.com/list/
  4. that being said, pc fans are very well known for throwing sound. so it may be a good idea to disconnect one fan at a time and see when the sound stops
  5. Ah, I see. You seem to tick all the marks then it seems. Though out of personal interest how do you encode when streaming? does the hd60 pro do the heavy lifting? H.264? Shadowplay?
  6. I don't wanna be a debbie downer, but I do have a few question/ suggestions. I'm pretty sure the 6700k and the 7700k are about the same price atm, so would it just make more sense to get the 7700 with a Z270 mobo? An SSD would be nice, especially since this looks like a no-compromises build. I'd also like to ask if this is more of a multi-purpose machine, or a dedicated streaming pc? not trying to step on any toes, just sharing my thoughts (and questions)
  7. So I have either the wrong Mobo or the wrong cpu? do you have a recommendation for which to replace with what? this was intended as a barebones cheap build.
  8. It's alright, it's just a great idea sometimes to read into the topic a little before trying to help. Though the sentiment is appreciated and thoughtful.
  9. I've tested the gpu before, and I also, know the cpu pins aren't bent, as i had to adapt the socket slightly, I don't know how to do a mem test though, and I REALLY don't want to reapply the cpu as the hyper 212 evo was a pain (even more so in this case)
  10. So I put together a pc for my younger brother's birthday out of parts I had lying around and slightly older ebay parts when you plug it in the motherboard, fans (through dedicated molex), cpu fan (onboard), front I/O, and ram all get power; but it won't post a signal to the screen. Cpu- Xeon X5472 (adapted) mobo- Intel DQ965GF Gpu- GT 730 ram- 4x 1gb Corsair ram sticks Psu- SeaSonic X650 Gold Hdd- a few mis-matched ones here and there (formatting unknown) Cpu Cooler- Hyper 212 Evo
  11. That is not viable at all give this is a dedicated second streaming pc, and I won't be using exclusively this PC at all. not to mention GPU encoding is not as good as cpu either way.
