    Hi Guys, Heres the long story: I'm an IT tech at a college, and since the covid lockdown, we've been putting local user accounts onto laptops for people to use at home, all has been working fine apart from a few days ago when a student came to us claiming that all of his documents had been deleted from the local user profile, naturally i assumed they had been silly and deleted their work on purpose or by accident, I couldn't see any trace of these files anywhere on the pc, not even in the recycling bin, but i used recuva to find a few files and off they went, now today, a member of staff came to us, with exactly the same problem, they had been logging in fine with the local user account, then one day when they signed in, BAM all of their documents were gone, teams had signed out, it was just like a brand new fresh profile, and again theres no sign of any documents anywhere, and recuva could only find a few documents, my query is, is this supposed to happen? as in is there a limited refresh time on local profiles, or is it purely user error? Specs for you guys Both instances were using Windows 10 1903 Enterprise LTSC Both Instances were using Lenovo Laptops but one was a L570 and the other was a T590 Both Laptops were set up in the exact same way, no differences Is there anything else you guys need to know? I've been trying to search the net for a while now, and haven't come up with anything? Am i being too paranoid, or this simply just a user error? Thank You in advance.

    Hey guys A bit of a long story, but I've got an RX 480, which has been running fine for a while, but the last few days have been so frustrating. loading the OS and word processing would be perfect, until I load any game, then the display driver would crash, freezing my PC, and causing me to reboot, very recently it's been getting a lot worse and more frequent, so I contacted AMD, and their only response was to reload windows. before i go and reload my PC, I put the card into another PC to make sure it wasn't any other component, but that PC just wouldn't boot at all, I then put the card back into my PC, and everything is normal, with no problems! Do you guys have any idea what was happening before, and why removing and reinstalling the card would help??!!? Side note, I have messed around with the driver, as in rolling back, updating, DDU'ing the whole thing, all of which didn't make any difference what so ever. Thank You in advance

    I'm afraid this would be the only option, unless you can see physical damage to a component

    It is very possible for a failed PSU to take out another component, you will need to swap out different components until you find the problem

    Yeah it saves changes, cause I changed something else to see if that would stick which it does, and I've already updated the BIOS, I've been Goolging for days and I just can't see anybody else with the same problem.

    I have a couple of Lenovo V110 laptops with windows 7, the only way for them to work, is for the BIOS to be set to Legacy, however, the BIOS keeps reverting back to UEFI which then causes a boot loop as it can't find the hard drive, it's driving me nuts! I have tried changing BIOS batteries, and updating everything, but it still keeps happening!! Has anybody got any ideas on why the BIOS keeps changing!!!

    I've just got the 6600k with a z170 gigabyte motherboard and 16 gb of ram, which sounds overkill as it will mainly be used to watch youtube. I'm only after 1080p resolution and 60fps, nothing fancy

    High guys, I have just bought new PC components, and I am now looking for some new monitors, but there is so much choice out there!!! can anybody recommend a decent monitor, I am not worried about FPS as I only game once in a while, but I would really love something with no bezel, as I might have more than one, budget isnt a problem either as long as they are less than £300.     I have had the laptop open, and checked the wires and antennas in the lid, i have also removed the wi-fi card and cleaned the contacts, but it still doesnt work

    Hey guys, I have got 2 Dell Latitude E5550's both with the same problem, it keeps saying there are no wifi networks found even though several other devices connect fine, also after unistalling the driver and removing the device from device manager, it won't let me reinstall the driver as it said there is already a newer version installed, so it ends up blocking the installation. Has anyone had the same problem, if so how did you fix it? Thank You in advance Edit: The Ethernet works fine, if it helps

    Hi guys, my goal is to simply setup freenas, i'm using the corral version within a virtual enviroment, everything i see and read on the internet mentions a console setup where you can use numbers to navigate and set up things like an ip address, however, once done and booted it just has the web url link which doesn't work. I'm using an AMD FX-8350 with 16GB of RAM, and VMWare Workstation Pro 12. Why can't i access the console setup page, or how can i access it please??? Thank you in advandce

    Hey guys, I have a micro atx case and board here (socket 775) but i absolutely hate the plastic clip mounting system on the stock coolers. I'm not sure how much room I have, i'll have to measure up, but i have about 1cm room above a fat stock cooler. What would you guys say is the best out there? p.s. It needs to be rated for at least 95W as well (Q8300) Thank You in Advance
