  1. Hey all, at at the moment I'm in the market for a CPU air cooler under 150 mm for my lian li PC Q10 case with a 7700k. I'm looking to do some moderate to heavier overclocking. what air cooler should I buy?
  2. Hey all, I was just Browsing Newegg when I noticed that Biostar finally put their mITX Ryzen mother board, the X370GTN, on newegg. It says it's out of stock, but I'm not sure if any units have actually been sold yet or if they just put the listing up automatically: I really have no idea. Anyone know anything? https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138452&cm_re=X370GTN-_-13-138-452-_-Product
  3. I'm a bit annoyed, but probably more so about my own idiocy. A ordered my FTW card the DAY before they announced the FTW2 and around a week or so after I got my card in the mail the 1080ti was announced.
  4. My understanding is that with Ryzen, AMD just about matches Kaby Lake concerning IPC. additionally, with the notable exception of the 7700k, price to performance for consumer cpus under single loaded tasks goes to Ryzen. if my understanding is correct that is.
  5. its a pretty good build. more RAM wouldnt be a bad idea. Heres a 2x8 kit for around the same price but with a slower clock speed. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Gv8Zxr/a-data-memory-ax4u2400w8g16drz
  6. there's a lot of questions that you need to answer before you settle on an upgrade path. if you're interested in some of the proprietary technologies that intel is offering with Kaby lake, such as optane, then getting one of the motherboard/cpu combos might not be such a bad idea. If you only care about performance then investing in a ryzen r5, such as the 1500x or 1400 also wouldn't be a bad idea. concerning graphics cards, waiting is probably your best bet right now if you plan on saving up for a 1080ti because vega might end up shaking the market and you might end up changing your mind.
  7. If you're alright with going used and aren't too interested in any of the new features, the gtx 970 is a pretty attractive option. I can find a few cards for 100 USD in my area.
  8. Hey, I'm a bit of a small form factor enthusiast and have been planing to make a new build for quite some time. it seems like ages since any news regarding mITX boards for AM4 has showed up. does anyone know anything?
