I will try to gram some. The ram swap and BIOS update did nothing unfortunately. EDIT: Tried swapping everything with no luck. I even tested the ssd using disks app with ubuntu live usb - the drive is fine. At this point i noticed that ubuntu run with no error. I reinstalled windows again, and the install workes fine. However the moment i installed chipset drivers i start to get blue screens. Reinstalled windows again and run stress test with cpuz (no drivers whatsoever) and it was ok. Is this just AMD drivers being really bad?

At first i did not do a fresh install, but yesterday i installed a fresh windows 10 - that was when problems got worse. Do i need to install any drivers for 5800x or MOBO? I did install new GPU drivers for 3070.

Every time it blue screens the code is different. The 70C was when playing game like Apex. Idle it is cooler around 60C tops.

I recently build a new system: Corsair RM850x 850W 80 Plus Gold Kingston FURY 16GB (2x8GB) 3600MHz CL17 Beast RGB Inno3D GeForce RTX 3070 Twin X2 OC LHR 8GB GDDR6 AMD Ryzen 7 5800X ASUS TUF GAMING B550-PLUS be quiet! Pure Rock 2 Czarny 120mm Plus some old drives from previous pc. Everything put together in my old case. For the first two weeks everything was fine but noticed that my CPU was getting really hot - i swapped paste on the cooler for Kryonout and got max 85 Celsius in synthetic test. I did a RAM overclock using DOCP in BIOS - just enabled it but i noticed that my CPU was getting into 80C when playin Total War: Three Kingdoms (everything worked - no crushes etc) so i returned BIOS to default settings. Nothing i wrote above caused any problems - CPU might have throttled but system was stable. Recently - like 2 - 3 days ago i noticed that games started randomly crushing. I does not matter what game it is - Apex crushes as fast as WarPips (so id does not matter how demanding the game is). I started to get bluescreens. It started with just one, i tried to repair my windows install but it did not help. Since i did no do a fresh install when updating my PC i decided to do a full clean installation. The problem is now much worse - I pretty mich cant start the system. It resets or bluescreens almost immediately. My first though was that maybe GPU is a problem (since games were crushing). I put my old one (GTX 970) in and it did not change anything. I did not have time to test 3070 with the old system. I also tired overclocking the RAM again, using different slots on MOBO but nothing helps. From what i could see from limited time i got between crushes the temperatures on CPU were fine (70 max). In Ryzen Masters i noticed that EDC (CPU) was sometimes high but i cant confirm that it really was high when crushes occur. I ordered a new RAM set, and plan to update the BIOS on MOBO but honestly I would welcome some help.

5600x/3060Ti vs 5800x/3070ti - thinking about new rig
LaughingMan replied to LaughingMan's topic in New Builds and Planning
In the end i go 5800x and 3070 (no ti) as there was a sale. I was able to get Inno 3D 3070 for a decent price. Unfortunatelly i have problem with it now - maybe you guys can help me troubleshoot. First 2 weeks were coplately fine, but recently the games started randomly crushing. I even Got a ocasional bluescreen. Looking at temps all seed fine with cpu and gpu at around 70 celcius. Also there games crushing were more demanding titles like apex, but also some 2d games. Clean driver install and Windows repair was not able to help so i did a clean Windows install. Now computer bluescreens pretty much immediately. Sometimes it does not even get to login screen. I suspected gpu, and put my old one in but the problem persists. I tried putting ram i different slots - it also did nothing. I dot run any OC. Done dhcp on ram but i have diaabled it since. I am slowly runnig out of ideas short of bad cpu. -
5600x/3060Ti vs 5800x/3070ti - thinking about new rig
LaughingMan replied to LaughingMan's topic in New Builds and Planning
The reason I did not even look at AMD cards is because they are priced ridiculously in Poland - 6700XT is pretty much same price as 3070, 6800 are missing in action and 6800xt are more expensive than 3080. -
I'm am thinking about upgrading from my 7-year-old build featuring GTX970 and i5 4690(not k). I was able to get through Horizon and RDR2 on this rig but its starts to really show its age. Honestly i am a bit surprised how well my current system fared through the years - i was looking into maybe upgrading it a bit, but i cant get anything better than i7 4790k without upgrading my mother board and that CPU is like 700 to 1k PLN here (~180$ - 250$). In the end it seems to me like i would have to spend more than 700$ to maybe reanimate this rig with used CPU and GTX 2070 and at this price point I don't feel comfortable with no warranty at all. Budget (including currency): 6 kto 8k PLN (that's a bit under 2k$, but prices are probably very different here - a decent 3070ti is like 1k$ here) Country: Poland Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly gaming, i don't really work on my pc and even if i did I am quite sure stuff I'm lookin at is very overkill. As far as what games i want to play - a bit of everything: Apex, AS: Valhalla, Horizon, Dark Souls, Elden Ring, Age of Empires 2, Starcraft 2, Valheim, Battlefield, COD etc. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I am running double 1080p 24 inch monitors (basic Dells), thinking about upgrading one to 1440p. I use second monitor mostly to watch Twitch or YouTube while gaming (I start to see my current CPU lacking the power to do 2 things at the same time here). Since I sometimes work using those same monitors i might be tempted to upgrade second one to 1440p as well just to get the same DPI on both of them, but running games on multiple monitors is not something I am trying to do here. What i came up with: 3060Ti + 5600x be quiet! Pure Rock 2 ASUS TUF GAMING B550-PLUS AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Corsair RM850x 850W 80 Plus Gold Zotac RTX 3060 Ti Gaming Twin Edge OC LHR 8GB GDDR6 Kingston FURY 16GB (2x8GB) 3600MHz CL17 Beast Black 6280 PLN (1,463 USD) 3070Ti + 5800x be quiet! Pure Rock 2 ASUS TUF GAMING B550-PLUS AMD Ryzen 7 5800X Corsair RM850x 850W 80 Plus Gold MSI GeForce RTX 3070 Ti VENTUS 3X OC 8GB GDDR6X Kingston FURY 16GB (2x8GB) 3600MHz CL17 Beast Black 8209 PLN (1912 USD) You may notice that those build do not include cases nor any drives - I am thinking about reusing my current case for a new build (it should fit and i kind of like the case anyway) so i might pick up some cheap case for the old pc if i decide to keep using it. I also want to reuse all the drives i have in my current pc - have system on SATA SSD as well as SSDs i keep my games on. I think i will upgrade to M2, but i really don't think i have to do this at this time as loading speeds are not a problem. Additionally 5600x tempts me because its like 100$ cheaper than 5800x right now, but i saved around as much on CPU when i was building my old rig. I don't know if I am right but I feel that if i got i7 ot at least the "k" variant of i5 i would still be kind of fine now (with some overclocking and an upgrade to the GPU - get like 2060 or 2070) . But i might be really wrong here and getting 5600x which is way better value might be a better call since in 4 to 5 years i will have to upgrade anyway. I have trouble deciding which option i should choose. I would like to get a few years out of the new pc (maybe not 7 but 4 at least). The AM4 is a dead end now, not sure about Intel's 1700 socket, but CPUs are more expensive (i would have to go with i5 probably). But even if it would be possible to upgrade to next gen Intel if i go with 1700 socket I am not sure it would really make sense to upgrade (i am not sure i would like to go through the hassle of trying to sell the used CPU - the used market here is kind of small). In the end i would like to get a rig that could work for me hassle free for a couple of years. The upgrade to 1440p monitor i mentioned is also not a must - I don't really mind staying at 1080p. Please help, any help or suggestions are welcome. P.S. I did not post links to stuff because they are from polish shop, but if anyone cares here is the link to the shop - www.x-kom.pl

Hi everyone - I would like to join the question as I am looking for something roughly similar. My trusty Logitech G19 is dying and I want to find a replacement for it. I have never used a mechanical keyboard before so I'm a bit terrified by the choice of switches. My feature list: Full backlight (preferably RGB, must include all characters on the keys) Low profile Dedicated media keys + volume scroll (I'm flexible here - could live with some multifunction keys I think) Full layout (no TKL or smaller) Wireless (as mentioned above - I can settle for wired) Mechanical It is really important for me for the keyboard to be low profile. I almost pulled the trigger on Logitech G915 but special characters are not backlight on it which is a deal breaker for me. Its a shame really as I would be happy having to use just a single software for my mouse and keyboard. From what was proposed earlier Corsair K70 RGB MK.2 Low-Profile looks promising, but maybe you can help me find something else. I find it is really difficult to find a low profile wireless keyboard with backlight (even not mechanical one). Thanks in advance! EDIT: In the end i went with k70...

Hey guys, It's my first post here so be gentle I was thinking about getting a fast SSD for every day use - it is not supposed to be a boot drive. I already have SSD to boot from (Plextor M6S series 256GB), and I am pretty happy with the performance. What I had in mind was primarily "gaming" drive to speed up loading up things (ex. new Deus Ex takes quite a long time to get out of the metro - I guess stations are pretty far away in Prague). I did not decide on anything yet, but I saw Samsung 950 PRO m2 drive for, lets say, not to outrageous price. As my mobo does not have m2 connector I though about using m2 to PCIe 3.0 x4 card. But i do not think I have this either. There is however perfectly fine PCIe 2.0 x16 slot. I know PCIe is backward compatible, but are there any other issues I might run into when connecting this m2 drive through m2 to PCIe 3.0 x4 card into PCIe 2.0 x16 slot xD. Another thing that worries me a bit is that most of this m2 to PCIe cards look really crappy. They are cheap thou.
