  1. I am already using an SSD, the Windows start up is very fast, its just the BIOS/POST screen that takes 10-15 sec. Yeah I think so too, I should have fast boot already enabled, I am not quite sure why its running those post checks every time, I have never seen it before this motherboard. I already enabled fast boot, I only have Windows installed on an M.2 SSD, other drivers aren't boot drives. They are only good at getting killed by everything and everyone, I could call Felicity but I don't like her.
  2. Hello, I have an ASUS Z170-A motherboard, every time I turn my computer on the ASUS logo bios screen takes around 10-15 seconds. If I look inside my case I can see red LEDs turning on and off, there is one for CPU, GPU, RAM and so on. Is there any way to speed this up or to skip this process entirely?
  3. Hello, I built an auto dialer application for spamming scammers such as those annoying IRS, CRA and tech support scammers. I need 1 windows virtual machine per auto dialer, additionally I would like to stream the process to YouTube, perhaps up to 10 different channels as I will have different characters calling the scammers, for example Negan from TWD. I am looking for the cheapest server that would allow me to do this. I am considering getting 2 Xeon E5-2670 and a Chinese X79 motherboard but I am wondering if there is something cheaper that would also work, for example Xeon X5670 looks good too. Lastly would something like a Threadripper be the best possible option as its new hardware?
  4. Ok, first of all, great job on achieving a 4.00 GHZ overclock on your i7-6700k... I can't get mine past 2.5Ghz I would love to see the series, PM me your YouTube link once you get started.
  5. As people already suggested, i7 6700k + DDR4 Ram would be a better choice, I think GTX 1060 is too weak for 1440p, you should probably go with i5 6600k + GTX 1070 if you want 1440p, and do people really still pay for Windows?
  6. Here is what I am using: http://imgur.com/a/qThnM
  7. Interesting, it does work with 4 cores, even with 8. My PC has an i7-6700k and 16gb DDR4 RAM.
  8. Yeah, I don't think ReactOS can handle 4 cores, but let me try actually.
  9. Yeah, I agree, Vulkan being used by all game developers would be amazing. As for ReactOS, I used VirtualBox, I selected Windows XP (32-Bit) as the OS, 1GB of Ram, 60GB Hard Drive and I used the latest version of ReactOS (Boot CD).
  10. Linux is probably the only OS going forward, ReactOS seems pretty good but their development team is too small at the moment.
  11. According to this: https://www.netmarketshare.com/operating-system-market-share.aspx?qprid=10&qpcustomd=0 Windows 10 only has a 21.13% market share which is pretty pathetic and not at all surprising while Windows 7 has 47.01%. If enough people continue to not upgrade, Microsoft will have no choice but to either fix Windows 10 or die out. Their company is already going down the drain, if you don't believe me, just look up how many people they fired this year. Their Windows Phone is dead, Xbox (and consoles in general) seem to be dying out too, anything they touch immediately get worse (take Skype for example). Windows 10 is "free" sure, what this means is that they take all your data and sell it to Advertising companies so that those companies can give you better targeted ads. Lets be honest here, I have not seen an ad in ages and I am not going to any time soon, call it morally wrong to use AdBlock all you want, but I use it, you use it, Linus uses it and everyone else does too, Microsoft can either give us the products we want, or they can go bankrupt and someone else will make a new OS that doesn't spy on us and runs all the applications we need.
  12. For anyone who doesn't believe Microsoft is collecting their data, please do a clean installation of Windows 10 in a VM, enable all the privacy settings like you normally would, make sure OneDrive or any of those pre-installed applications aren't running, run Wireshark and leave it overnight, it will still attempt to connect to 100s, possibly 1000s of IPs and send data. As for Windows 10, I don't think it brings anything useful that Windows 7 didn't already have except for DirectX 12, which many games still aren't using (and by the time they are someone will find a way to make it run on Windows 7, there is a workaround to get DirectX 10/11 on XP), on the other hand it does bring up a number of issues: for one there is the spying, forced updates, certain drivers missing, some software not working properly or working at all.
  13. Oh, wasn't there people saying that: http://bgr.com/2015/07/31/windows-10-upgrade-spying-how-to-opt-out/
  14. Lets also not forget about Microsoft being able to see all your files and browsing history....
