  1. Welp we restarted it after installing DDU and now its fine. What.
  2. Yeah i thought about that, but i don't see why the drivers would SUDDENLY stop working. They haven't changed.
  3. So my SO uses a TV as one of his monitors. He likes it, it works for him. Turned on the setup one day today and the tv would not pick up the PC signal, go into monitor settings on the spare monitor and it is not detected at all, won't be picked up. Tried other cables, all cables tested and working fine. Tried other ports (both on pc and on the tv), no signal. Tried other devices, on the same ports, with the same cables, all working 100% fine (dvd player, wii, switch, and ps2). It is just the pc that won't go to it. No idea what it could be, no updates or drivers have changed, gpu has worked fine, entire pc is fine, works fine on the spare monitor and other monitors. No idea where to continue troubleshooting this.
  4. So it seems the conclusion is 3080+ if I am looking to get an actual upgrade out of this, yeah?
  5. Looking at used stuff with that graph to help me, I can comfortably get a 3070?
  6. Surprising to see the market hasn't moved on that much. Things worth almost as much as I paid for it last, really? Maybe I'll hold on then, thank you.
  7. Looking to upgrade from my aging 2070 super, which is still good, but it's definitely showing its age in my render times. I don't need hyper specific recommendations, or links to buy online, I can do that myself, but the gpu market has moved on a lot since I got my card (3000 wasn't even out!) so I don't know where to begin or what cards I should be looking at. Do I go nvidia or amd, 3000 or 4000, etc etc. I will primarily be using the system for 3d modelling work, with gaming on the side, though I rarely do heavy gaming so the best best performance there isn't necessary. I feel NVIDIA is best here because of the encoding power, though I am open to trying amd since I have a ryzen 5900x to pair it with that seems bottlenecked by the poor 2070s. I'm in the UK, budget would be around £300 though of course that matters little over the christmas period when there will be sales and the pricing of things will change, another reason why I just want some general parts recs, I can find the deals on my own. Thanks guys~
  8. I do not. Have never been able to set it up properly unfortunately. Gonna try in another pc.
  9. Too much conflicting info online from the issue. I was unpacking armoured core 6 and the drive just dropped. Completely gone. Undetected in bios. Unplugged and replugged. Not there. Never had this before no idea what to do. New ish ssd (had for less than a year) and no issues before this. Drive has very important info on it that I will need to get back. Anything I can check or test?
  10. So updates are good, new cooler came, cinnebench multi core never got higher than 76, which is nice, fans get loud under load as one would expect but its fine, just fan noise, maybe a little louder than my last ones, but no rattling irritating noise. Only 10k in cinnebench though, compared to 20k of a similar system, why is that? Two questions: First, who the hell do I believe on CPU temp? Ryzenmaster reports just a single flat temperature, 35 on idle on desktop, 76 under load. Hardware monitor reports 76 under load as well, but reports 60 on desktop on some parts, which one is right? Secondly, what do I do with my old cooler? It's too old and buggered to be resold, part of the block is corroded which probably didnt help, definitely EOL, I can't just bin it, what do?
  11. Pump header goes into AIO Pump header on mobo, fans go into a seperate header that I then just plug into a regular fan slot on the mobo? Also to the guy who was asking if i can fit ive got a lianli 011 dynamic, so yeah I have space haha ^^ Also looking into it, of those coolers I can only find the dark rocks nhd and ak on my two sites, scythe is pre order which wont work. Dark rocks are like £65, £90 for pro, Noctua is £90, ak is around £45, theres a b grade dark rock 4 (non pro) for £40 but idk if I trust that, aklso a b grade 4 pro for £65 If it's a difference of £5 between the AIO and the air coolers, I am not sure what decision to make
  12. Thank you, one final question since you seem the knowledgeable type, Do most coolers come with built in fan control? My current AIO has a header on the radiator I plug all the fans into, then I plug the one cable that comes from that into the AIO header on my mobo, which allows the fans to be controlled via CPU temps. Do the others all do that or do I also need to buy a fan controller?
  13. Thank you! Will look into them as well. I 100% should get an air one if they perform like that for cost, but my brain at the same time goes "make pc pretty with cute looking cooler" which is hard to ignore.
  14. So of the AIOs get the liquid freezer II, of the Air coolers get the Scythe? That makes teh decision easy since I can't find the scythe on any site other than amazon and I don't shop there
  15. Fair! I am very much still looking at future proofing though, id rather spend another lil bit more to get something thatll last me longer. Also deep cool have some triple rad AIOs for the same price as that one. I guess I am letting my "oo water cooler pretty" bias show through. https://www.scan.co.uk/products/deepcool-gammaxx-l360-v2-aio-cooler-3x-120mm-pwm-rgb-fans-anti-leak-technology-360mm-radiator-intel
  16. Ahaha fair. That air cooler is nearly the same price as whatever triple rad AIO I was going to get, is it really worth it to get that over say one of these 2? https://www.scan.co.uk/products/arctic-liquid-freezer-ii-360-rgb-360mm-all-in-one-hydro-cpu-cooler-3x120mm-pwm-rgb-fan-40mm-vrm-fan https://www.scan.co.uk/products/fractal-design-lumen-s36-aio-cooler-rgb-3x-120mm-fans-copper-heatsink-360mm-aluminium-radiator-intel Coolers are one of the areas where I really am braindead
  17. What do you mean with the second comment sorry? And it goes up to 80 under full render loads, it *idles* at 60. Like, with google open. But I shouldnt derail this thread into my other one haha
  18. I did not post the CPU, I already had a thread on here with my temperature troubles with it haha. It's a ryzen 5900x runs 60- most of the time so looking to get that down ideally. I'll get whatever keeps this thing under that without driving me mad with rattling noise
  19. It's at least 3-4 years in *my* use, I bought it used (without fans) and the guy that had it I think had it for a year before then. So it's at least 3-4 years old. Fans are deep cool cf120mm, but theyre 100% dying, tried all the screws and what not, swapped em about a bit, it's 100% them, if I hold the fan stopped manually they stop rattling ya know. Obviously since the cooler is used I have no warranty to speak of.
  20. As stated in the OP it's a fractal design celsius s36
  21. I mean most sets of 3 fans are around $30-40 that I can see. But then again I am not the best shopper
