  1. I'm looking to purchase a new graphics card, specifically a card from Nvidia. I could purchase the Gigabyte 2070 super gaming oc for about £500 which has a lower boost clock than the ASUS ROG STRIX 2070s OC but is about £120 cheaper. However, ASUS is currently running a 'trade in' program ( https://asustradeup.com/gb/en/pages/graphicscard/home ) which means I could trade in my old GTX 970 for £105 (which is about twice what it would fetch on ebay). So would the strix be worth the extra effort of sending in my old card or would I be able to achieve similar results with an overclock to the Gigabyte card? 2. Yeah, they seem to be going for about £150, is there any good, cheap motherboards you can recommend for the Ryzen?
  3. I've currently got an i5-4690k with a GTX 970. I'm planning on upgrading my graphics card to either a gtx 1080 or 1080 ti, depending on what prices I can find on ebay at the time. I'm assuming I'll be getting quite a bit of bottleneck with my current CPU so would it be worth the extra cost of completely changing platforms in order to support a newer, more efficient processor or just sticking with my Z97 motherboard and buying a second hand I7-4790k. The main uses of my computer is gaming and a bit of uni work.
  4. So, I've decided to put some money aside for an upgrade to my current PC. I primarily use my computer for gaming and just generally socialising with friends online. I've come to the dilema of either upgrading my current i5 4690k to an i7 7700k with obviously a new motherboard and 16GB of DDR4 RAM or waiting for the GTX 1080 Ti to come out and buy that instead of my GTX 970. I will eventually have enough money to do both upgrades but I'm curious if it will be worth buying the 1080 Ti first despite the bottlenecking of my current processor. Thanks in advance for any help B.T.W I was unsure of what thread to put this in, sorry if it's in the wrong one.
  5. I have recently seen a used Titan X (Pascal) on ebay for about £250 less than it usually does, would it be worth it to take the risk and go for the used card or is it a bad idea to buy cards that are not brand new? Has anyone ever had any experiences (good or bad) with purchasing used components?
  6. Well, that doesn't sound like fun I'm just wondering man
  7. How badly is considerably? A year? Two? Or maybe more?
  8. This is just a theoretical question but, say you were running your processor at 100C. What kind of effect would that have on the lifespan of your processor?
  9. Is there anyway that I can test to find out what may be damaged??
  10. And it would probably be better if my mobo was not the problem as I have already got a Z97 motherboard in my system so it would be cheaper for me to just buy an I7 4790K
  11. My PC doesn't boot up first try as soon as I press the power button, I can hear some fans turn on but not my case fans and when this happens it trys to load into windows and crashes. But I can eventually get my PC to boot through multiple goes of pressing my power button and waiting to see if it boots.
  12. Recently my computer has been playing up and not booting properly until I give it a good few goes.I suspect it is either caused by my Processor (I5 4690k) or my motherboard (Gigabyte Z97P-3D) and because of that I am looking to upgrade. Would it be worth the extra money I would pay to upgrade to an I7 6700k with a decent Z170 motherboard (any suggestions would be appreciated) and new 16 gigs of DDR4 RAM or buy an X99 motherboard and an I7 4790K and keep the 16 gigs of DDR3 I've got now? If any of you have experienced this problem before and you know the culprit then please tell me as I would proberbly end up saving some money if it's just the cpu that needs changing. I assume it is the CPU as I have also had some cpu related BSODs such as clock_watchdog_timeout. Thanks for any help I get in advance :-)
