How much space do you need?

I am considering buying an Oculas Rift or an HTC Vive but the main worry I have is not actually using it. It seems like a cool idea especially with the rising number of games that are VR capable but it also seems like something I would use for a while then get bored off and ditch for traditional gaming. If I am going to spend that kind of money on something, I would like to take full advantage of it.

Will powerline adapters work in rural areas?

My internet is slow in my bedroom where I have my PC and I can't run ethernet lines to it. I was considering buying powerline adapters to increase my internet speed. But I read somewhere they are not as effective in rural areas if the house is connected to all three phases of the power grid. What the heck does that mean and how do I know if it applies to my house? Also, my wireless speeds in my room are around 7-15 megabits per second. Is there anywhere to tell what kinds of speeds I can expect from powerline adapters? If so, what are they?
