Hi!
My current motherboard, an ASRock Z77 Pro3 has died on me and will take a month to return from RMA...so I'm going to have to buy a new motherboard.
I can either purchase the same motherboard at $99 or a new ASUS P8P67 Pro at $40. The main difference is that the warranty for the ASRock would be 3 years, while the ASUS would only have 60 days. Both are brand new.
I'm pretty bummed by my first experience with ASRock (1 year and already dead!) am thinking of getting the ASUS because of that.
However, the ASuS has a P67 chip...which is well, way older. I've never used ASUS boards before, but the general vibe is that they are good it seems.
I'm using an i5-2500K and have no intents to change to a Ivy Bridge chip. Integrated graphics isn't a must have since I use a HD7950, but is always a good to have. Neither do I need the additional features on the ASUS, but its always a good to have. Evidently though, the ASUS board has more features than the ASRock
would like to hear your opinions! I have no plans to change my pc soon and its going to last me another 3-4 years.
thanks
