I see a lot of tinfoil hate people in this thread in regards to FaceID.

I have the X; upgraded from a 7 Plus and love everything about it. FaceID has worked way better than I could've ever imagined. I've tried it in a number of different places and it has been solid 100% of the time. I have yet to use the passcode to unlock the x aside from when I restarted it back on launch day. The screen is absolutely amazing especially the blacks. The battery life is really great too. I thought it would be a noticeable difference coming from a 7 Plus but I actually haven't noticed any reduced battery life as of yet. Wireless charging is amazing. When I'm at work the X is always sitting in the Spigen Qi charger stand. The most I've gotten the X down to so far was 69%. TrueTone bothers some people but I welcome it as I prefer less stain on my eyes. They also made the device thicker and because of this it's easier to hold now.

The ONLY negative thing about the X itself is the type of screen they went with. Sometimes you notice this screen-door effect on the screen and it can be somewhat distracting. I suspect I will get use to it and forget about it soon.

The notch is 100% not a problem for me. It was all hyped up for no reason just like I thought it would be. To me, it feels almost like a 3D effect when whatever it is you are viewing forms around the notch.

EDIT: I see some people saying that learning the new gestures coming from an iPhone with a home button might be difficult. LOL absolutely not. Of course the first few days you will forget about swiping up unlock and instinctively reach for the home button that is not there but you will learn fast. I prefer swiping up to unlock WAY more than resting my finger on the home button.

I will also say that FaceID when using certain apps that would normally prompt you for Touch ID is basically invisible and require you to do nothing. It's much more seamless.

I think I'll wait to see what Samsung has to offer next year and if I'm not impressed by that I'll go for the new iPhone. Thank you everyone for your input it really helped!

The guy asks whether or not he should switch to the current gen iPhones or wait until next year, and immediately people argue why he should stick to Android. That's not the question he asked!

I want the convenience of the apple ecosystem also the unrivaled performance of Apple's new phones. Also my android experience has been terrible, I am sick of it and want something different.

Yeah they are expensive but the apple-verse is very appealing to me. Plus I've had a terrible experience with android so far.
