  1. Thanks, so the i3 would be fine if I have plex pass? I was looking at this https://gadgetversus.com/processor/amd-opteron-6276-vs-intel-core-i3-12100t/ and it looks like the i3 kicks the opterons a$$... and I never see my Opterons over 20% cpu usage. The most I have ever seen connected Without transcoding has been 5 (Transcoding is currently turned off.)
  2. so would Quicksync not help with the Transcoding?
  3. Budget (including currency): $300 Country: Texas, US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: So I am trying to upgrade my Unraid server used for Plex Media Server, photo storage, and the supporting apps. Other details I currently have a Dual AMD Opteron 6276 setup(eats power like an all you can eat buffet). Would a I3-12100T or i5-12500T be a good upgrade, while saving power.
  4. So, I am looking for best affordable earbuds with noise cancellation for sleeping. My wife likes to sleep with the tv on and I can only handle white noise or quiet. I don't really care about the audio quality just noise cancellation and comfort to sleep in. I am looking to spend about $40-80. any suggestions would help. Matt
  5. Thanks, I am running some Flat Ethernet cable rated for cat8....its a 2.5gbps network and some thick gauge extension cables. Again, Thanks, I always hear people talking about electrical interference but I didn't know how sensitive networking was.
  6. So I am having to run a 20ft Extension cord and Ethernet though some cable channeling as I have no power outlet where my computer is going to be. I just want to make sure there wont be any issues with the network speeds, lag, etc running it through the same cable channel. Thanks Matt
  7. thank you for all the suggestions I went with that AMD RX3700xt for $380 ...I don't think I can get much better than that...unless I wanted to wait on more mining cards to flood ebay. My goal is to not have to update/replace my system for another 5-6yrs
  8. Budget (including currency): $350-400 Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: JRPGs, Emulation, eventually streaming Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): So I got a i9-11900k and ASUS Z590-Plus TUF Gaming Wifi motherboard for about $350. My goal is to make a system that can emulate all systems upto PS3, as well had JRPGs such as FF15, Tales of Arise. It will be connected to a TCL 4k TV so it would be nice to play at 4k60 4k30 but I am ok with 1080p60 as well. I am looking at new and used. Thanks Matt
  9. No it was a thin client and a desktop, and then a Nintindo switch dock on a HDMI Switch. I was looking at the LG 43UN700-B I just wanted to make sure it was comparable, ty
  10. So I am looking for a 4k 43in monitor with Multiview or Picture by Picture capabilities. The LG 43UD79-B is discontinued and I am just looking for a good suggestion for a alternative for around $600 to $700 max. It will mostly before working 2 quadrants for work and 2 for personal use while at work. IE. PS remote play or movies while work is slow. At the moment have 4 1080p 24in screens and its a mess. I have not seen any more reviews of these kind of monitors. Thanks, Matt
  11. cool, ill give an update once I get it all setup. My issue with emulation has always been the moving between computers. Or loosing the save file and having to start over.
  12. So my goal is to make a Portable folder for emulators and ROMs/ISOs so I can play save and pick up on any system I goto. I have a Unraid NAS setup and was wondering how well running the exe file from there and the isos for PS3 game off the NAS but having the PC I am playing on do the Computing. It is only 1gbps network.
  13. I collect game consoles so here is my list of consoles....I could be forgetting some. and I have some in a pile to repair. Consoles: Atari 2600 ColecoVison Gamecube NES SNES Nintendo 64 Nintendo 64 Jungle Green 2x Wii w/Gamecube ports Nintendo Switch PlayStation PSOne PlayStation 2 Slim PlayStation 3 Fat no backwards compatible PlayStation 3 slim PlayStation 4 slim Sega DreamCast Sega Genesis model 1 Sega Genesis model 2 Original XBox XBox360 white no HDMI XBox360 Elite Black Handhelds: 2x Gameboy Gameboy Color 2x Gameboy Advanced (white and clear purple) Nintendo 2ds XL Pikachu Edition Nintendo 2ds Nintindo DS (original) Nintindo DS Lite PSP PS Vita
  14. Ya i was Hoping for something like the gamivo site but in a full screen ui that might use the API of each client to buy the game page to buy, so when you buy and tell it to install it will add to your game list... Ya I am not looking for a site and not looking to replace each launcher/client for a different one(I dont think they would every play nicely) More something to tie all the clients together in one app... Like LaunchBox can detect your installed steam(and other clients) games and add it to your BigBox mode with your roms and emulators. You Still have to have Steam, Uplay, etc to access it...was just hoping to take that to a next level...see what you had but not installed or do a search for a game your would like on all platforms then when you click buy it would auto load steam to the purchase page. I think it was origin that had their own client you had to download with Steam games at one point...I want to say it was Assassins Creed but you could still buy the game on steam. PC gaming just seems to be getting more frustrating every time a new publisher want to add a new client and have exclusives. But thank you for you response.
  15. So I know there is a Front End for installed steam, gog, uplay, games, etc.(I like LaunchBox). However is there any Front end to look at prices and games on all the stores then buy the game from that app without having to into every app and look? I like some PC gaming but hate the digital downloads and all the different clients. I miss big box physical media. Physical games are one reason I have mostly moved back to console. Anyways just wondered if there was an Front end to Combine all the PC game stores?
