Another question can i use vga to hdmi ? (or hdmi to vga, a bit confused in that part)

Does that mean that he has to get a monitor that support hdmi or dvi-d directly ?

My friend bought a zotac gtx 1050 to swap out his old gt 710. He got a vga to dvi-d 24+1adapter for it but when he starts the pc it tells him to check the cable. Any idea of where he had goofed up?

My laptop was running perfectly yesterday but when I on it today it gave an error message "internal hard disk drive not found" I've tried taking it out and putting it back in but it still gives the same message. Is there anything I can do, I got the HHD just about a month ago.
