  1. Im buying directly from MSI`s online Taobao store. For B550, they only have 550m Mortar. https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?spm=a1z10.5-b-s.w4011-15336474611.72.e9fa3572PYHup2&id=631182982483&rn=0d744093f020e0292120e360c7f1cfa1&abbucket=11&skuId=4678751257023 This is ASUS`s online store. https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?spm=a1z10.5-b-s.w4011-14980691975.77.3d19439c08V3fN&id=630855073385&rn=ce9294422ddb75ead7d53d8b52b2be16&abbucket=11&sku_properties=20105:101657 Gigabyte Aorus https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?spm=a1z10.5-b-s.w4011-21251580461.51.456964cdn6QkiQ&id=630427361353&rn=bc3caea8e0031712373a0a97446d49e8&abbucket=11&sku_properties=20105:101657;1627207:10685611812
  2. MSI stopped selling Tomahawk here in China, my option is pretty limited. For ATX mobo, there would only be the b570 Gaming or higher end mobos. As for headers, I really dont know. With my current workflow, I would only be upgrading my storage to external devices. So as long as I have USB 3 gen.2, I guess I should be fine? I made a petty mistake back when I first bought the rig. So when I doubled my ram last year, I had to stick with 2400.
  3. Budget (including currency): 600 USD Country: China Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Davinci Resolve, LR, Cities Skylines(heavy mod), Battlefield 2042 Other details ( Hardwares I currently have, and are planning to upgrade: CPU - i7 6700 non-k MOBO - MSI Gaming Intel Skylake H170 LGA 1151 (H170A Gaming Pro) Hardwares I currently have, and not planning to upgrade: RAM - Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (4x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 2400MHz PSU - EVGA SuperNOVA 650 GS, 80+ GOLD 650W HDD - 2X4TB SATA 6 SSD - 256G EVO 1TB EVO GPU(waiting for price drop, to change along with PSU) - MSI GAMING 1070 I wouldn`t need any other peripherals. I don`t use PCIE Expansion slots for anything, and I wouln`t upgrade to m.2. I might connect to external drive stacks/or raid set up in the future to edit videos. I have two monitors set up, one 1440p at 144hz, and one vertical 1080 at 60hz. My work on resolve is editing and color grading. I work mostly with 4k h.264 10bit 422 files, or transcoded DNxHR 422 files. The problem I currently have is: 1. During color grading, i`d ran out of VRAM fast because of lots of OFX nodes. This part, i will wait to a GPU upgrade. 2. During editing, timeline scrubing and playback is not quite smooth. Although I`ve been working with proxy files mostly, so this is not that big of a deal. Although I`d hope upgrading might help. Because transcoding sucks. 3. This is my main problem. I can`t seem to render stabley. When rendering through the original files(mostly h.264), i have to turn of OFX plugins to ensure a complete rendering. Or otherwise, i`d get bad frames, or failed render. When rendering through lossless proxies(DNxHR 422), it`s pretty much the same. I am hoping by upgrading my CPU, i`d solve this rendering problem. And the solutions I currently have is: 1. When GPU price gets......better, I will switch to a 3080. Larger VRAMS might help tremendously. 2. And then I would also switch my 650W PSU to 750W, if this is enough. 3. For now, I want to upgrade my CPU first. I am currently thinking the 5800X. Although I dont know if 5600X would be enough, since Resolve doesn`t care that much about CPU. And I am stuck trying to decide whether a B550m or B550. I dont use any expansion slot, and I don`t use any M.2 drives. Does this mean, with my current set up, i wouln`t saturate all the PCIE lanes? The price difference between my two choices is about 150 USD. (5800X with B550M MORTAR cost about 500$ and with B550 STRIX 663$) Thanks a lot.
  4. I dont think it has anything to do related to high Disk Active time. I tried what they said online and lowered the active time to literally 0, and the problem is still there. Then i tried to run CrystalDisk again, the transfer rate is aroun 3MB/S I tried to restart, the computer froze. I power off and on again everything backs to normal.
  5. Ive tried many solutions. But I still have the problem. It seems like after a day of useage, it happens. The weird thing is that it is solved by restarting, and after a few hours it comes back again..
  6. Hi,guys I just got myself a new rig which uses one WD Blue 1TB as my only large disk. I use the Samsung EVO 850 150GB as my OS and application disk, along with raw photos temporarly stored for proccesing. So this HDD disk is for games. The problem is that the drive seems to randomly slows down after a period of time. The read and write speed slows down so much(around 1MB/S-10MB/S or even few hundred K) that I cant even finish the CrystalDiskMark drive test. But the problem is solved everytime after I restart it. Very funny and weird. So i sent it back to Amazon and asked for a replacement, but still wondering what exactly is causing this problem. Any of you guys have any ideas? Running Windows 10 64bit Home version. Motherboard is MSI 170H-Gaming Pro Cpu is i7 6700 PSU is EVGA Supernnova 650 GS. And when the drive is normal, i get a test speed of around 160MB/s in Reading and 130 in Writing. Thanks guys.
