  1. I know it would do better if I had an i5 or i7, but I have the i3 already at this time. Yes, the PC was built as a budget gaming pc some time back and has just been sitting in the closet ever since. My current rig is a (gaming rig) 6700k 1080ti ftw3 32gb 3000hz I just want to separate streaming and gaming. See how it works with my setup and if I like it I had considered upgrading the budget rig to a better cpu in a few months or so.
  2. I have a second rig with the cpu (I3-6100) in it just hanging out and I considered using it for a dedicated streaming pc and upgrading the cpu later down the road. It does have a a gtx 970 as well, not that it will make a massive difference for streaming. Has anyone really tried this? I looked around on google, but the reports are few and far between with little information to be found.
  3. Update: The issue is with in the windows profile only. I created a second profile and it works just fine. So now the question is to figure out to resolve this issue.
  4. He's a salesman. He sold you. Laptops are not exactly upgrade-able in that way. Typically they allow for ram and hard drive swapping. About it though. CPU and GPU would require enough work (assuming someone is willing to do it for you in the first place) where it would be cheaper to just replace the unit all together.
  5. Yes, and at the price it would be a little hard to recommend the 1050ti. If you have the extra funds of course. The 1050ti would work just fine, but the 1060 is only a few bucks more. The 1060 also requires more power and has a higher power consumption. That boils down to personal choice on where you want to be budget wise.
  6. To start, I have tried several keyboards which landed the same issue. So, I'm thinking this is profile related some how. I will be creating an alternate profile to confirm this shortly. However, I do know I can use the 5 and 7 key when logging into the profile which furthers my idea of the profile being at fault. The issue: The number 5 and 7 key in my 10 key do not register. However, if you apply the "tone" to key pressing on it will sound if you press those keys. It will simply not register a 5 or 7 unless you use the standard number keys above the keyboard. Things I have tried: I have tried several key boards. Checked mouse settings and keyboard settings The 5 and 7 key work when signing into the profile, but not after This issue is in windows 10 Ideas?
  7. Just pick up any custom caps that work with cherry mx switches. Should be just fine.
  8. Having a YouTube or other media style interface does not mean you automatically get "sponsors". Let's take YouTube for example since most know and understand it to an extent. Years ago you just needed to get to 500-1000 subs with the views to back up the sub count, and product would some times start to come in. Now, with that in mind it was never top end gear or even name brand for that matter. Now, in today's world, it is more like 5k-10k subs with the views to back up the sub number to get the same treatment. If you want bigger companies to jump out and help, then you are looking more at 15k+ to get their attention. However, the other options are as follows.. You are amazing at business negotiations. You are amazing at marketing. (which means your channel will blow up anyway) You have a name in the industry that you can throw around (will also mean your channel would grow quickly) If you don't have any of those..then start out like any other techtuber did. Grind it out and use your own money.
  9. A 1050ti is the same as a 960 basically. I would not use one for VR.
  10. I have been in the mobile audio field for over 20 years now. Doing everything from R&D to owning my own shop for a majority of that time. There are a few reasons why LTT will not likely ever review "car audio". 1. They do not posses the proper tools to do any testing. 2. They do not have the knowledge bases required for reviews or testing. 3. Since they are not known in that industry, it would not do any manufacturer any good to use it for marketing purposes. The audio world has basically 4 variations of end users. 1. SPL These guys spend massive amounts of money to set records, do hair tricks, and win trophies. They do not need anyone to review products in order to make their purchases. 2. SQ basically the same as SPL but pure audiophile setups..also do not need/want reviews 3. Typical car show..flash in the pan style installs only care about the name of the product not the performance of it. 4. You basic user. They will buy their product at Best Buy. They won't care enough to worry about a review and just want to impress their friends.. also very cheap most of the time.
  11. In the real world the answer is boost 3.0
  12. Likely just needs to be cleaned.
  13. It does not work that well with most AIO setups. You need to build a custom loop, or buy an "add on" AIO that is for your GPU. A few companies make them now.
  14. Do you have pics of how you applied the thermal pads and paste?
