If you scroll down the page linked you'll find tech specs... for this to work with your PC you'll need to buy a Meta Quest link cable and Air Link for it to work. As far as performance issues you shouldn't really have any with a 3090ti, compatibility should again not be a problem but as with everything your experience may be different to my experience if I were to buy it. There has to be someone in this community that has the VR set and a 3090ti that can give you more help with a similar setup to yours?

Quantum Dot allows the MSI the extra color gamut, its a technology that offers almost unparalled color space for the price, however its slower, hence the Gigabyte having half (0.5ms vs 1ms) the response time

    Its colour vs speed essentially

yeah, that is true, i guess.

its just that these companies coexist just fine, even benefit ftom each other (don't forget intel either)
as long no one investigates in the obvious market manipulations they'll keep making business as usual, there's no decency here.

don't forget intel, just because they make mostly igpus doesn't mean they aren't in the market.

so while that technically isnt a monopoly,  there are obviously laws against market manipulation and both surviving companies would face more scrutiny most likely...

on the other hand nobody seems to really care, because this is ongoing since 2 decades now.

There is a hardware difference between 40 and earlier RTX GPUs. On 40 they beefed up the optical flow processing which is part of what they use to implement frame generation. The optical flow processing on older series is lower performance. It may be ok for non-realtime processing, but it isn't gaming grade.

I'm waiting for reputable sites like Digital Foundry to do a detailed test on how FSR 3 really performs vs DLSS3. If it is anything like FSR 2 vs DLSS 2, then it may work "ok" but objectively not as good as nvidia's solution.

FSR 3 still comes with its hardware limitations and requirements. AMD recommend RDNA2 and newer, although it functions on RDNA1. Likewise on NV side, AMD recommend 30 series, although it functions on 20 series. To be worth using it has to work well.

They won't. They've no need to and the people only they respond to don't want NVIDIA to.

NVIDIA's 900 series and onwards marketing was SS+ tier and is still paying dividends for people's preference. Marketing so often repeated that people now think it's fact.

But just like politics, we deserve what we sow. If we vote for stupid people in power then don't be surprised we're worse off. Same goes here. Vote with your wallets people and its seems like the people are still happy with these GPU prices as well as actions by NVIDIA.

The hdmi is 2.0 which is hard to understand but the DP 1.4 will do 165hz. Not sure about in HDR though, im happy at 144 to be honest. Been gaming at 60 fps for ages so anything is an upgrade for me. Yeah I will bide my time, looking like a very promising option though

The DW and DWF (the good one) have been out for a while and have extensive review coverage documenting every aspect of how they operate. They can do 3440x1440 at full refresh rate and HDR with no issue over DisplayPort, that's how its intended. Tim at HUB/Monitors Unboxed did an update with the DWF's latest firmware upgrade back in June.

Then one month ago, has the DWF as his #1 pick still.

For me, as an owner of a 34" 3440x1440 display for the last 7 years, I wanted more pixels AND OLED, so my LG C2 I picked up in January has been fantastic. Moving back to 16:9 was a bit of a struggle for a week but I'm fully used to it now.

In my opinion, burn in is overhyped.
The first popular OLED screens were perhaps the Samsung S2 phone. That is now a decade old and people still buy and love OLED displays. I have no burn-in at all on my LG phone after 3 years. Others have slight burnin in the status bar and home buttons. The same happens with IPS displays.

The Corsair XENEON has burn-in waranty as far as I'm aware.
That said, how likely you'll get burn-in is soooo much dependent on how you use the monitor. Also what kind of OLED panel it has, how high brightness you use, etc... there is no single metric for this. Only time will show.
Also Linus uses a lot of static content, mainly desktop windows. It's not really a good use case for OLED.

You'll be probably fine for years if you only run games and movies. But then again, if a game has a lot of static content like crosshair, UI elements, etc... and you play it all the time then it's basically the same as a desktop static content and it will get burn-in.

I think you aren't noticing quality changes but clarity as ultra settings often mean a lot of extra visual noise because of extra stuff on screen.

Higher fps also cause for us to be able to absorb more information as there are simply more frames for us to see which can lead to a much clearer perceived image.

I'd not get an oled in all honesty because burn in is a real issue in these to this day. A qd oled is a nice compromise as the pixel display matrix is still an lcd but the backlight is an oled. So you still get deep darks and great response times, however burn in is a lot less and if it does happen the lcd part is fine there will just be very small differences in light being emmited through the pixels which will be almost impossible to see.

You have a 1440p high refresh or 4K 60 system, so I'd say focus on that.

Sharpness is mostly dictated by the resolution, size and pixel layout. The clarity by the speed of the matrix and the refresh rate.

    I guess 4K at 27" would look quite sharp. 25" 1440p also.

But I'd still recommend 1440p 240Hz if you can afford it, over 4K 60-75Hz.
The visual quality is not the only improvement, smoothness is a huge factor too.

Well, you don't need to sell the TV right? You just need to buy a monitor and a desk (if you haven't already).
You just need to treat it like having 2 different displays or multi monitors, switching between monitors is quite easy nowadays, with DP connection, the PC will automatically detect if one of the displays is off, so it is as simple as turning off the one not being used.
The usual go to for 1440p 27" monitors is Gigabyte M27Q or the newer variants, can't go wrong with it.
Ultrawide is good too, good ones are expensive.

My bad, autocorrect's fumbled me and ruined the whole point I was trying to make. 4k performance will pretty much always be determined by your GPU, at least for now and next several years until we see revolutionary performance increases that make 4k a piece of cake like 1080p was back then.

yeah, well, it shouldn't destroy anything but it'll surely run hotter and use more power so there's that.
but on the other hand a 3090ti is exactly designed for such a scenario so it really shouldn't do any harm lol.
