rphawks reacted to Oswin in ~$500USD+ Gaming Build
the 1650 super is faster on most games compared to the rx570, and it comsumes less power. you can still go with the 3600 if your budget allows, or with the 3300x if their prices are reasonable.

Jesus that's overpriced, man this virus really sucks for prices....
Hope everything works well for you.

rphawks reacted to The Flying Sloth in ModMic 4 Noise Issues
The V67G is a far superior microphone to the 770 and the CM1 is a $100 mic by boutique manufacturer 3U Audio, amazing amazing microphones BUT I agree, the Q2U certainly isn't bad and honestly is the only USB mic I don't hate.

rphawks reacted to Taf the Ghost in $600 PC Build
Haha.
No, just suggesting the RX570 is a perfectly adequate option, and the next cycle in 9-18 months there should be reasonably priced upgrade options. Thus, if there is a place to cut in a budget gaming build, dropping from a 580 to a 570 makes a lot of sense.

rphawks reacted to Taf the Ghost in $600 PC Build
It's fine for a 2600 Build. Pretty much any B450 is fine for a 2600, even under high OC. It's the 2700 builds that'll fry a VRM if you get stupid with it.
But it's a 6 core processor and Dual Channel memory really matters. 8 Gb x2 is the most optimal, especially for basic Near-Term proofing. If you have to cut, seeing if you can get a cheaper RX 570 is an option. It's about 10% down on the RX 580, but upwards of 50USD cheaper. If that's what it takes to sneak in a build, so be it. The CPU will outlast the GPU.

rphawks reacted to Streetguru in Can a Corsair H60 cool and i5 8400
Sure but why are you asking?
A far cheaper $25 120mm 4 heatpipe air cooler will be comparable to that cooler
and if it's a new system what budget/country and what do you need the PC for?

rphawks got a reaction from ZacoAttaco in Random DC from Wifi
@ZacoAttaco @Netivity Problem seems to be resolved by switching wifi from ac to n. Don't know why it worked, but it did.

rphawks reacted to Judd in Bluetooth Receiver for Device
It has a battery because AUX does not supply enough power to wirelessly broadcast a bluetooth signal. It comes with a usb cord to charge it. You can charge it while using it.

rphawks reacted to Bouzoo in Gaming Chairs...
That's subjective. It was worth it for me, so to say. Mind you I used it at work.

rphawks reacted to Techicolors in Gaming Chairs...
the herman miller aeron is good. but i would look for used ones. while that might turn you off you still save a lot, and the Aeron lasts a very long time
that said i would try to find an office store or something and try those chairs if they have them

rphawks got a reaction from Zando_ in Gaming Chairs...
Well. The chair I'm using has some rips in the leather and it was previously my dad's office chair (like... 6 years ago). I figured I might as well get something I can use for a long time. Apparently these "expensive" chairs end up being worth the initially hefty price tag.

I mean... I use my chair on carpet. Plus those things start to crack and break eventually (I used to have one).

Sounds like the pump isn't working... RMA is probably the right call.

rphawks reacted to zdog16 in Slider? or na.
I too have always been looking to get video gear on the cheap. The best thing that I have found to do, especially on support gear like sliders and stabilizers. Look for used stuff, and be patient. The item you are looking for may not be available at a price you are willing to pay right now, but if you keep looking and saving, eventually you will either find it at the right price, or save up enough money to buy one new. I have gotten several pro pieces of gear just by looking and waiting. Ebay and Craigslist are great ways to find what you're looking for, also develop contacts with other video professionals around you. Just this last year I bought a Movi M5 from a guy for less than 1/2 of the price of a new one, just because I knew the guy pretty well and he was willing to give me a great deal.
There are a few pieces of gear that I would suggest you be wary of buying used like DSLR bodies, but for things like a sliders, tripods and rail systems used gear is perfectly fine.

rphawks reacted to The Sloth in 1080p G-Sync 144hz vs 1440p 144hz
i would go for the cheaper one, features argon offer for the extra price is not worth it.

rphawks got a reaction from ArduinoBen in 1080p G-Sync 144hz vs 1440p 144hz
I do game a lot. However, I don't really notice tearing that much... Now I think about it 1440p is probably better. I hate low res things. I've just never owned a 1080p monitor lol. Only 720p and 1440p on my Macbook.

rphawks got a reaction from Brooksie359 in Reviewing my build
The only thing I would note is that the ~$1000 doesn't include the graphics card. Just an FYI. The card must be out of stock or something.

rphawks got a reaction from another random person in GPU Problem... help...
You won't believe what just happened. So I had moved the card down a slot yesterday, didn't boot, I left it alone, went to sleep. Come back home today, click the power button out of habit... and IT POWERS ON. Still curious though, what happened yesterday?

Apparently something similar has happened to someone else:
https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=gi6fa9jstpq5vcgvg1fntoko16&topic=275832.7
But I've been using this GPU for... 2 months? almost 3.

rphawks reacted to Energycore in Budget GPU Kaby Lake?
If you're on budget why did you get a 7700K? Return it and get a 7600K.
Then get a high quality PSU. That's all.
You should also get a GTX 1070

rphawks reacted to Taja in Choosing an LGA1151 mobo for a 7700K
7700k is almost like 6700k. A bit better, but not much.
As for mobos, they are all New, you can check Pauls hardware vídeo about Asus z270 boards, he shows 6~ mobos with great detail.
