  1. You don't want to go anywhere near that temp with a stock cooler though...anything above 60C is going to give you quite loud fan noises.
  2. that's a steal for a 970. I'd still say to get an i5 over a ryzen 3/5 if stock allows. You don't need a good cpu cooler because you can't OC the i5 and it stays really cool at all times.
  3. You should consider an i5 8400 if you are able to pick one up between now and christmas time...the cheaper motherboard options should be out by then (hopefully) and the i5 is pretty similar in price to the ryzen 5 and does quite a bit better in gaming. Once they release the H series or B series for the current socket of 300 generation motherboards then they would probably be priced around $100 for a motherboard which isn't bad at all. It would actually bring your total price to roughly AU$ 440 - $280 for i5, $100 for a decent motherboard, $60 for your hard drive.
  4. and what are your thoughts on the mobo, if you dont mind my asking
  5. Hi all I am looking to build my first PC and have decided on dual 1440p monitors. My budget is somewhere between $2000-$2500, including those monitors. I will be using this system for multiple windows of macro-enabled excel files, and gaming (the gaming will be FPS, as well as single-player world games that are more based on aesthetics than performance). I decided on a grayscale color scheme with some blue highlights. I currently do not have the ability to use an ethernet direct connection and figured the asus z170 deluxe would simply and easily give me a strong wifi connection as well as an easier time OCing. I would love to hear any tweaks or alterations you would make, and if I am a fool for putting the deluxe on my parts list. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/rrgkXH
