  1. Also, I have quite some money to spend, but saving money by not spending it on useless specs is always nice. I also will stick to the i7-6700k, because better i7's get really damn expensive + I have found a nice motherboard which suits my needs looking at it features.
  2. Thanks everyone for replying. I have collected some information about the Corsair Vengeance LPX (2x 8GB) DDR4 dimms, because these seem to have the best price for every frequency. If the higher frequences are giving me a lot of performance increase, I think it is worth the extra money. However, the timing also differ with each frequency and I have no knowledge about those timings. So can you tell me how this affects my performance? Side note: I live in the Netherlands, so the currency is in euros
  3. Hi all, I am planning on building a new pc with the following specs: Motherboard: MSI Z170a Gaming Pro Carbon CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K GPU: EVGA GTX 1070 ACX 3.0 SC (purchased, in my current pc) CPU Cooler: BeQuiet! Dark Rock 3 (purchased, in my current pc) PSU: Corsair RM750 (from my current pc) Case: NZXT S340 Special/Razer edition RAM: Still to be chosen (DDR4) My aim is to make a pretty silent and very good looking build. I still have to decide which RAM I'm going to use for my build. The Corsair Vengeance LPX 16gb DDR4-2133 (kit of 2 dimms) seems pretty good, although I am not sure if it is worth it to go for a higher frequency RAM? Also, if you have a better kit, please tell!
  4. Thanks for your advice. Sadly only a few hardware stores in my country (The Netherlands) offer EVGA motherboards and those are way too expensive . I meant the Asus Z170 Pro Gaming/Aura. The word "Aura" makes the big difference in color scheme her . This is what the board looks like: https://www.asus.com/nl/Motherboards/Z170-PRO-GAMING-AURA/ Whoops, my bad. I actually meant that the board has 3 PCIe 3.0 slots. I want SLI support so I can always put a second 1070 next to the one I already have, for when the prices drop. This means 2 of the PCIe 3.0 slots need to be able to run in x16/x0 mode (when you're using a single graphics card) or x8/x8 (for 2 graphics cards in SLI). I am going to use the pc for gaming. I also noticed that Intel is coming with their new Kaby Lake processors (including the i7-7700k) and Z270 chips, so maybe prices of the Skylake processors will drop soon? Looks nice! Sadly my wallet is not infinitely large I am looking for a motherboard with a price of around 150 euros.
  5. Hi all, I am planning on buying an i7-6700k for my computer, but I am having a hard time on choosing a motherboard. I've got a list of features I want to have on the board: - Z170 chipset - ATX formfactor - SLI support - RAID support - 3 PCIe x16 slots - Decent overclocking capability - At least 6 sata ports - Preferably completely black or black with some white/grey accents, RGB lights would be nice but not necessary - NO red accents, because I am focussing on a black and green color scheme I have found a couple of boards: GIGBYTE GA-Z170-Ultra Gaming: This one is completely black, BUT with red leds... such a shame that gigabyte doesn't have this board with RGB leds, but if this mobo has some good performace I can turn off the leds and still have a nice black/white board. ASUS Z170 PRO GAMING/AURA MSI Z170A GAMING PRO Carbon MSI Z170A SLI plus My question is: which of these motherboards have the best performance and features? If you have seen a different motherboard which satisfies my list of features, please tell me
  6. I get this in almost every game that requires some big performance. Games like Rocket League or CS:GO run fine on max settings, because those games are less demanding. I have run MSI afterburner, I haven't logged the results though (I uploaded a screenshot). I saw that all of my CPU cores were around 95% and sometimes topped to 100%. However I had some settings of 'advanced graphics' turned on. CPU temeratures were at 60 degrees Celcius, which should be fine right? I don' t remember the GPU temperatures, but my guess is that the temperatures aren't the problem. Although I had advanced graphics settings turned on, poor performance was also in other games like Fallout 4, AC: Black Flag and Space Engineers. Tell me if you want some more benchmarks or other data.
  7. Hi all, First I'll list my pc specs: MOBO: AsRock H77Pro4-m CPU: Intel Core i5-3570 (not K!) 3.4GHz, not overclocked, with stock cooler. GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 SC ACX 3.0 RAM: 2x 4GB Kingston HyperX DDR3-1600 RAM PSU: Corsair RM750 BIOS: Updated to the latest version. Storage: Intel SSD 320 Series 600GB x4 (RAID-5) + some 1TB HDD FYI, I install all my games on my SSD raid. OS: Windows 10 Pro So I recently upgraded from a GTX 770 to a GTX 1070. I expected some nice FPS increases, but my FPS ins' t actually that much higher. Today while playing GTA 5 I just couldn't handle it anymore, I have got a damn 1070 and I'm still running on 40 fps (!) with the recommended settings by NVIDIA. That' s maybe 10 fps more than I got with my GTX 770. So I decided to do a 3DMark benchmark. Looking at the results of that benchmark, I think my entire system is really underperforming. I have attachedmy Firestrike benchmark and a reference benchmark of someone else. As you can see in the results, there is quite some difference in the results, although the CPU and GPU are exactly the same on both systems. List of things I have already tried: - Turn my pc off and on again - Reinstall all of my NVIDIA drivers - Update my BIOS to the latest version - Trying to run games with some background applications like skype, discord and chrome, shut down. - Rage about why my system is underperforming. - Search on the internet for solutions. None of the things listed above have made any change to the performance of my system! Someone, please help! I am clueless! If you have any questions, do ask! Greetings, Sjoerd from the Netherlands
  8. Yeah I did that, to almost the lowest sensitivity but there was no change.
  9. So I recently bought a gaming toaster, also know as a gaming laptop. It's the ASUS ROG G501VW-FI074T. First I'll list my specs: Intel Core i7 6700HQ 16GB SO-DIMM DDR4-2133 512 GB pcie SSD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 4000MB 3840 x 2160 screen resolution Mouse: Razer Deathadder 2013 OS: Windows 10 Education My mouse is working fine when I'm using it for standard uses, like browsing the internet. When I start a game, for example CS:GO or Modern Warfare 2, I am having major mouse issues. The sensitivity gets super high, when I move my mouse 1cm I am doing 5 circles ingame. I am running my games at 1080p, note: my actual screen resolution is 3840 x 2160 Things I already tried to fix this: Reinstall the razer drivers | did not work Try to use a different mouse | still exactly the same problem when using the different mouse Set my windows resolution to 1920 x 1080 and run the game at 1920 x 1080 | did not work Set my windows resolution back to 3840 x 2160 and run the game at 3840 x 2160 | did not work Remove the touchpad drivers | did not work Set all video settings of the games to the lowest possible | did not work And yes, I tried turning it off and on again. Also, the mouse isn't the problem because it works perfectly fine on my desktop computer when gaming. I hope anyone can help me out. Sjoerd
