  1. Hi, I'm suffering from this issue in which the processor doesn't adjust the clock frequencies according to the load. The normal idling sped of the processor is around 1.2-1.4 Ghz as you can see here But as soon as I put ANY load, it goes down to 0.39ghz. Including trying to past the screenshot to this forum. The crippling effect is so bad I struggle to be able to take a screenshot of it. I managed to capture it coming back up after it plummeted when I opened Windows explorer. Teams call are particularly a nightmare because in order to be able to have a call at all without missing half of the conversation I need to put the laptop to 'Best Performance Mode' with all the extra noise and the extra power that it consumes (and I work from home, therefore I'm footing that electricity bill). Laptop s a Lenovo T14 with an 10th Gen i7 as you can see. I already surfed the web but didn't manage anything to work to fix this. Any advise?
  2. As extra information, the error gets even weirder. Now that I have find a way to connect it to my WFH PC, it turns out that everytime a video on Udemy changes (AKA a new lecture starts) the screens go completely black. Please, any help?
  3. Hello guys, I have a Work-From-Home (WFH) set-up consisting of 2 external monitors connected to a Thunderbolt USB-C hub via HDMI, they used to work great. During the holidays I turned my work computer off never to be light up again until today. But I did test my wife new computer, given that the whole reason of buying her a new PC was for her to be able to use this set-up when I get back to Work-on-site (WOS). We tested it and I believe it worked just fine, allthough I don't remember doing any exhaustive testing I basically just checked if connecting it would turn on charging (sinec we both have Lenovos 65W chargers) and it had a video feed on both monitors. Her PC is Thunderbolt 4 Ready btw, while mine is only Thunderbolt 3. When I turn on my work computer, turns out that the TWO monitors connected to the Thunderbolt hub are recognized as one. They both show the exact same video feed and when I right click the desktop and select "Display Settings" only one monitor is recognized. See image Any ideas on what to do to solve this? Thanks a lot in advance.
  4. BIOS is updated even to the BETA version. How do I update the firmware on the SSD without been able to pick it up? I don't have access to another computer. I heard that the M.2 ssd disables a SATA port, should I try another SATA port for my regular HDD? Should I unplug my hdd?
  5. I just installed the replacement they sent and I was extra carefull. Anti-static mat, anti estatic wristband and ESD safe gloves. Still, I can't see the SSD anywhere. Should I disconnect my HDD and retry going to the BIOS? What should I do?
  6. I'm getting a replacement tomorrow. I will install and clone the main HDD to the SSD, then reformat the HDD to repurpose it as a Data Storage and use the M.2 SSD as boot drive. Is this by any chance not recommended? I can also install windows from scratch, but I think this would be faster.
  7. No, I haven't. Here are my BIOS settings, could you please take a look at them? https://drive.google.com/file/d/10AbqXBFGVx5Ds7ZF1BtbbmGvlA0-MsHI/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BO57NUiwXG8r_blUzR5PaXqhnG98vYV8/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mKV8kLRjiC-8eIpJz7njDn5zGpqYfgNl/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/10D198hkwPn1-vN9n956jtH_OhRKBT0ix/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/195a0Xu1z4J847VrW-SCkrHTczQgcUKC7/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QStHo9uqP6lCt33Yt2Uo3ZJ-w_3SnD4v/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NNfc1M1r6Mi0Zt3RnNiTYiwge31u4MTm/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1iS2sCrzRczDaQrhegSLz69_oOp8-ltL-/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lkUAyHbZVdu9uxDhBBJQsPwC2NhlEcvS/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YJYfDCqtzg63TWUOMo7rh6nziYyx2R04/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oOAw_kudskg6bvcwvTRMNgxgN_fWxDno/view?usp=sharing Regards, GF
  8. If there wasn't an M.2 SSD plugged into the board my PCIE16_1 port should be at 16x (for the video card).
  9. Hey.

Did you solve your problems with your SSD?

Can you please let me know how? I have a maximus VII impact and the same problewm.

  10. I haven't even been able to set-up the partition of the M.2 SSD, which I imagine is analog to a FAT32/NTFS partition of a HDD. I'll take screenshots and upload the post, but as I said... the only recognition that I see of the fact that the SSD is conected is the fact that my PCIE16_1 port is running at 8x due to limited PCIE Lanes . But a DoA has definetly crossed my mind.
  11. Hello, I'm having way too much trouble making my brand new 970 EVO to work. Systems is as follows: ASUS Maximus VII Impact Samsung 970 EVO Intel 4790K 16 GB DDR3 GTX 980 I've already updated bios and tried disabling Fast boot, CSM and delete boot keys. My PCI-E 16_1 port is limited to 8x, which would seem to indicate the M.2 SSD is connected, but no luck yet. M.2 SSD doesn't appear neither in BIOS nor Windows. What else can I do? Any help, even if I've seem to done it already will be welcomed. Thanks a lot!
  12. You can uninstall right now. Thanks a lot for your help. So, basically... I just gotta switch the main display whenever I wanna switch usage?
  13. Looks good, just need to check SW works with it!
  14. The thing is that I wanna make sure it works for SolidWorks, as I can live with it not working in other CAD/CAE tools since I use them very little. My bet would be to install SW (you can get a trial/ I have a torrent for 30 day trial use), then install the official SW driver (already checked FX 3800 is compatible, link here)... It would be very easy to figure it out if the software recognizes it, because when you use a Quadro you get a ton of new options right away from opening a new file. There might be a better way to test it, but it hasn't crossed my mind as of yet. BTW, sorry if my english is sometimes inaccurate or anything... not a native speaker EDIT: you can contact me on Facebook: Gian Flavio Violi Bravo... or shoot me an e-mail gfvioli@gmail.com
  15. So basically you put the application you wanna run on the monitor its connected to the right video card and that's it? Please do, I'm not in much of a hurry... I haven't quite saved enough for a good Quadro, I'm getting there though. Probably in the next couple of weeks.
