  1. I don't do any professional video or photo work. Thanks.
  2. So I noticed this deal today on slick deals: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/dell-27-led-gsync-monitor-black/5293502.p?id=bb5293502&skuId=5293502 $450 for a 1440p GSync monitor with 144Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time. It even has the HDMI port that I want so I can use it with a console, which is a pretty rare feature on GSync displays from what I can tell. But the TN panel is the only thing stopping me from pulling the trigger. The viewing angles aren't a big deal because it's going to be at the center of my setup so I'll almost always be using it head on. But are the colors going to be notably worse in a way that I'd rather spend the extra $100-$200 for the same specs and no built in HDMI port just to have an IPS display?
  3. I was fortunate enough to have had received an Asus ROG G74SX while I was in high school but sadly it had to be put to rest over a year ago after I ruined it with water. Since then I've been trying to game on the replacement Lenovo Y50 series laptop I purchased but even with the 860M, it just doesn't cut it sadly. After this summer I can finally affordto do a real kick ass build and given where the market is in terms of releases, I think the next month is a solid time to pull the trigger. And I mean badass. I don't want less than 60 frames on any game with ultra settings, and honestly even 60 seems a bit low. This thing is gonna be built to last and I'm gonna give it the budget it needs to do that. I think I can pretty safely go up to $3000 on everything (monitors included) but there is some wiggle room there as I'm probably going to have some money come to me in the near future. I've done a lot of research into components and everything on this pc part picker list seems really solid to me. I'm dead set on the CPU, case, and storage. I already have a 1TB SSD I'll be moving from my current laptop to this build so I can save money there. The Asus ROG STRIX 8GB OC Edition seems like the best 1080 card on the market at the moment so I'm pretty confidant on that. I'm planning to add a second card to the build this time next year after I start working full time which is why I've got a 750 watt PSU in there. Feel free to offer recommendations parts and cards though. I'd like different RAM but apparently no one likes to make RAM with White or light blue heat spreaders. The Motherboard is mostly chosen to conform to the colour scheme, but the board seems to offer everything I need it to offer. If you know of any other substitutes do point me in the direction of them. This build comes to just over $1500 at $1545 without shipping included. Given how much extra room it looks like there is in the budget, I want to overclock and do a custom loop. Literally because I want to. I'm aware that I won't be pulling that much extra performance out of doing this. I know the general idea of what goes into a custom loop but fitting it all together is another question. I used EKWB's custom loop configurator tool using the parts I had chosen in the pcpartpicker list to derive the following parts list for the custom loop. I'm not sure if there are compatibility issues or what here (If anyone know's someone at EKWB, tell them they need to make it possible to share wishlists). EK-CoolStream SE 240 (Slim Dual) (radiator) EK-Vardar F4-120ER (2200rpm) (fan) EK-XTOP Revo D5 PWM - (incl. pump) (pump) EK-RES X3 150 (reservoir) EK-Supremacy EVO BLUE Edition (cpu block) EK-FC1080 GTX Strix - Nickel (gpu block) EK-FC1080 GTX Strix Backplate - Nickel (gpu backplate) TUBE PrimoChill PrimoFlex™ Advanced LRT™ 12,7 / 9,5mm - Crystal Clear RETAIL 3m (tubing) EK-ACF Fitting 10/13mm - Nickel (fittings) EK-Ekoolant Pastel BLUE (concentrate 250mL) (coolant dye) This custom loop comes to $637 without shipping (a bit more than I was expecting as I heard a lot of people say that a basic custom loop would cost UP TO $500). Definitely going to be taking a lot of opinions on this one. I really don't know what I'm doing in this department. I just wanted to do my due diligence on research beforehand. I wasn't a fan of the idea of coming here saying "Hey I want a custom loop, someone spec the parts to my budget for me." As far as peripherals, I'm good on mouse and keyboard and speakers and stuff like that for now. I do however need to pick up a second monitor. I've had a BenQ XL2420T for probably 4 years now and I love that thing, which is why I was looking at the BenQ XL2420G as it has the exact same ID as the 2420T but has GSync capabilities. But it seems pretty damn difficult to find on of those for around $400 like I'd hope to considering it's 1080p. So I'm definitely on the market for a monitor. For the time being, it would be a single display preferably 1440p, 27 inch with GSync capabilities. I'd like to pick up two additional matching monitors in the future, but it wouldn't be necessary for those to be GSync enabled (another reason by the 2420G was a nice buy because I could pick up another 2420T). From I'm seeing it seems like most GSync monitors only have display port, but I'd also really like to use a PS4 with these displays so if there isn't one that has an HDMI, I'd need the additional hardware for whatever workaround there is. I'd rather not goes balls to the wall here and spend the remaining 800 in the budget on the monitor, but we'll see what you guys show me. I think I'd also like to get a mount for the monitors to get them off the desk. Whatever it would be would likely have to accommodate a 24 inch BenQ xl24020t and whatever other display I end up getting. I'd also really like to get an optical blu ray disk drive so I can have a bit of an AIO entertainment device. Sadly the NZXT s340 doesn't have a bay in the case, so either I can mod one in there or I have to buy external. Would love some suggestions on that. I'm pretty seriously into suggestions on this. I'm pretty confidant on the CPU components individually but I want to make sure everything fits together nicely. This has been a build I've been pouring over for a long time now and I'm super excited to finally do this in the next month (when the god damn gpu finally comes back in stock). Thanks ahead of time for any advice you guys provide.
