    I think I'll have to consider Ryzen in 2020 if I get the chance. This may be the last year of Xeon shopping for me ?

    Probably a good choice, the next Ryzens look to have nice bits of rework in them as well.

     

    I'm actually planning once the next Threadrippers drop, to sell my current two and upgrade to those.  Along with upgrading to a good dual rank 64GB kit for the main and take the current 32GB B-die kit in the main and give that to my 2nd rig.

     

    Though, also planning to get the next Intel main line consumer chip.  My main rig does alright in gaming, but I really need more core clock speeds to feed the GPUs. 

     

    Though, if you currently have a Xeon, those are not bad to be repurposed into say a PLEX or Minecraft server (currently got my one Xeon hosting a Minecraft Server that I'm still fine tuning on a CentOS 7 install).
