Hm. Steam just used to tell me that I "couldn't add steam libraries that aren't empty". At least that was a problem when I last reinstalled my windows without cloning. Yea, learned that the hard way. Fucked up one of my drives with some windows boot files and everytime I booted up my PC it kept asking "which install of Windows" I would like to start. One just kept bootlooping, the other was fine. It was annoying none-the-less. I was just worried about a fresh windows not reading my other drives properly, forcing me to re-partition them somehow - or even worse, format them.. I will try the cloning process first. Thanks for the reassurance! @Donut417

Soo, I am cloning my installation of Windows 10 in its current state to a new SSD I ordered. I have already set up the Windows Media Creation Tool and the Backup of my System on an external hard drive. What I am wondering is, when I boot from the new SSD after cloning, it will just recognize all my other HDDs I had, and read out the data normally, right? Right now, I have 3 HDDs set up, one with games, one with general data and one with recording and editing files. I would hate for something like Steam not recognizing its own libraries on my HDDs, or something of that sort. I generally have no problem with a clean Windows install, but it would suck to clone and/or reinstall nearly 2TB of data.

Up until now, I've narrowed it down to either PSU or MB... The replacement sound card works for every other PC but mine. I assume the 5V rail is kinda dead on my bequiet! I could just scrap the sound card idea but who knows how long the PSU will last now that one rail has weakened..

[Reposting this in PSUs] Hi helpful people, I am having a bit of trouble. So, recently I've encountered some strange issues with my USB-connected devices, like my keyboard. Or like recently, my external sound card. When I start my computer, my keyboard sometimes doesn't light up and I have to replug it to fix the issue. I've never seen this as a problem, but recently I've been annoyed by my USB sound card not working when I boot into windows. As with the keyboard, I usually replug it and after 5 seconds it works again. Now, this is quite annoying, as every time I replug it, Nvidia Shadowplay decides that my mic is gone. (Don't know how and why) Also when I save replays without re-visiting the settings, there is not even in-game sound on the recordings. I've tried reinstalling the audio drivers to see if that was the problem, but it persists. So it must be something with the USB ports, my motherboard or the power delivery. I have ordered a replacement sound card to cancel out the possibility of a faulty USB cable... its due to arrive tomorrow (wed) Specs or Devices: ASRock B350 ITX Fatality Creative Soundblaster X-Fi HD Gigabyte Force K85 bequiet! Pure Power 10 500W Any experience or help on this?

And before you nitpick... I know the ASRock is considered risky, as well as the PSU isn't top of the line. Sadly, I didn't have the money to get an Asus Board or a Corsair/Superflower/etc PSU of higher grade at the time i bought the parts.

Alright, it's stable now. My OC is purring along with no more than 65°C (thanks Dark Rock 3). No more freezes. Guess it had to do with my SSD, since a clean install on that didn't help. Using a M.2 SSD now and the old Sata SSD as a game drive. Only thing that bothers me is that I had to mod my Dark Rock 3 a bit for it to fit the Fatality B350-ITX. Thanks everyone for the advice

Still got freezes, although not that bad. At least it showed the loading cursor and the window showed (not responding). Gonna try and do a new install on another SSD, clean the HDDs and reuse them. I also ordered a Dark Rock 3 for better cooling. I'll keep you updated

I am currently so fed up. I've had my first PSU kill my first GPU, my second GPU overheat, my first motherboard dying... and now THIS?! So. The problem is that windows keeps locking up my current window randomly for about 8 seconds. I can still move the cursor, but I can not click anything or get any response out of it until it unfreezes itself. Also, Spotify in the background stops playing with the message "current song not available" and resumes after 5 seconds, and my Bluetooth-connected controller starts disconnecting and rumbling *spooky* As of now, I have tried to update every driver, verified all my storage (SSD+HDD), ran sfc /scannow, memcheck and Malwarebytes without any results. I have also tried swapping out my PSU, with no result (apart from giving my 1060 coil whine) All my components are adequately cooled, so overheating isn't the problem. Windows is relatively fresh (installed 2 weeks ago) as well as the HDDs. I have also uninstalled any 3rd-party security software to rule out interference issues. EDIT Sorry to you who already replied. I did a 100% clean reinstall of Windows just to fix this. Updating my BIOS to 3.60 and 4.40 was the next thing I did. Ryzen 5 1600 @3.8Ghz; 1.33V 16GB G.Skill Aegis DDR4-3000 (@2933Mhz) ASRock Fatality B350-ITX/ac Asus GTX 1060 Strix Adata SP550 120GB 2x WD Blue 1000GB Corsair CX650M/bequiet! Thanks for the advice. I used my hardware in the exact same state before with no issues, so it's unlikely to be a hardware issue. However, I restarted my router/modem and the rubber banding went away. So I'm gonna have to see if the problem persists.

Hello everyone! I am having a major issue, which is that my games are temporarily running too fast. The image feels sped up, yet it remains at high fps. When im running, the animation and souns are too fast and I get set back a few metres every few steps. I experienced this in PUBG and Dead By Daylight so far, haven't tried out other games yet. I'm guessing it's a network issue since it only occured on 2 evenings so far whilst I was able to play normally a few hours ago. Just in case, this is my hardware Everything is on the latest drivers. Ryzen 5 1600 @3.8Ghz 1.34V 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM ASRock B350ITX/ac GTX 1060 6GB Strix 500W bquiet! PSU SSD + HDD Any help on this?

Okay, one more status update... I have used "Ryzen Master to get the 1600X to 3.8Ghz at 1.33125V. Since the ASRock BIOS was showing some other Voltage controls I had no knowledge about, I would've just stuck to this. But since I am an "I don't want it that easy" guy, I updated the BIOS to version 4.40 and é voila! That did it. Simple overclock, memory is running as intended, no helper software needed. Thanks to everyone for helping me out or trying to I learned quite a bit today as I am still new to overclocking. Consider this case closed.
