  1. Hey, i updated the post with my location and a budged: Budged would be a max of 900 euro, but would prefer to go cheaper of course.I'm also from Belgium, Europe. As for ports, 2x USB and ethernet port is a must. Everything extra is nice - Arno
  2. hey, i'm looking for a decent laptop to take with me to school. I'm using the laptop only, and only for: - Programming (html, css, js, php, python and a little bit of c#) - The only programs it sould run decent (fast loading/switching between apps) are: sublime text, Jetbrain, Visual Studio Code and sometimes a Vmware to test some things on a virtual windows 10 environment) - VLC to watch my series/movies on - browse the web - Been able to handle all this, at a minimum since i will only use this laptop at school at my lessons and at exams (Got my main desktop at home to work on) Since i am a simple student money does not come easy, so i'm looking for something as low as possible (since i still got my powerful main desktop at home where i work the most on) I don't know so much about computer hardware, so i have no idea at what i sould be looking, I'm hoping you can help me out a little bit. Edit: Budged would be a max of 900 euro, but would prefer to go cheaper of course. I'm also from Belgium, Europe. - Arno
  3. Hey, I need some help to set up a second router at my house. Let me just start with saying why; A few month ago I switched rooms, this new room is allot farther away from the main router downstairs, by this I have a bad Wi-Fi connection when I use my laptop or smartphone. My phone switched to mobile data more often than I want (with I have to pay for, so that sucks). I got my main desktop pc inside my room, with is hooked up with a cable coming straight from the main router. I bought myself a cheap router (Linksys E900), they told me in the store it would work just fine. After messing with it and trying it by myself I did not succeed. I was able to put on the router on bridge mode but it was not sending out Wi-Fi signal, and my internet speed on my main desktop went from 175-185/mbs download to under 80/mbs. I used this to access this. https://www.linksys.com/us/support-article?articleNum=143751 Our main router is from Telenet (Belgium), model: CBN, CH6643E. The second router I want to set up is Linksys E900. Can anyone help me set this up correct so I got my extra Wi-Fi transmitter and less internet speed lost at my main computer? Thanks, Arno.
  4. thanks allot, will work from there! This was helpful
  5. There is no OS needed, this is provided. The only thing I would like is to have 32Gb of ram, to make it future proof. About the budged I’m not sure. Just the best bang for buck, keeping in mind I’m just a student. I don’t know my budget yet will depend on some factors over here. One heads up is, I don’t need storage. I still have a m.2 and a 2tb HDD laying around. About the budged I’m not sure. Just the best bang for buck, keeping in mind I’m just a student. I don’t know my budget yet will depend on some factors over here. i won't be playing games on in. Will be just used as workstation. No, no periphelas. Just the computer.
  6. hey, I’m looking for a workstation computer to run more heavy desktop applications. Programs like office, big databases.. ect. It’s important that that the computer is future proof, but still is as cheap as possible. I would like to know wat you guys can suggest me.
  7. Hello, A few days ago i started working on a build for a friend and after getting allot of feedback on in I’m finally happy about the build. We are talking about allot of money for us (as a student) so I want to be sure I won’t be running in any kind of problems. The only thing I am not sure about is if the CPU cooler (Scythe FUMA) will be any kind of trouble for the installation of the RAM (Corsair vengeance LPX 2x8gb). Here is the full build: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor (€238.38 @ Amazon Deutschland) CPU Cooler: Scythe FUMA 79.0 CFM CPU Cooler (€46.93 @ Amazon Deutschland) Motherboard: Asus Z170-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (€141.90 @ Mindfactory) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory (€84.84 @ Mindfactory) Storage: Crucial MX300 275GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive (€77.80) Storage: Western Digital Blue 2TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive (€78.20 @ Mindfactory) Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GAMING X Video Card (€334.05 @ Amazon Deutschland) Case: Fractal Design Define R5 Blackout Edition ATX Mid Tower Case (€105.77 @ Amazon Deutschland) Power Supply: Corsair CXM 450W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply (€55.00) Keyboard: Corsair Raptor K30 Wired Gaming Keyboard (€49.80) Total: €1212.67 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2016-08-29 10:48 CEST+0200 What do you think?
  8. Hey, with the feedback I received here and from other friends I made some bigger changes to the build. As you noticed here: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor (€238.38 @ Amazon Deutschland) CPU Cooler: Scythe FUMA 79.0 CFM CPU Cooler (€46.93 @ Amazon Deutschland) Motherboard: Asus Z170-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (€141.90 @ Mindfactory) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory (€84.84 @ Mindfactory) Storage: Crucial MX300 275GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive (€77.80) Storage: Western Digital Blue 2TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive (€78.20 @ Mindfactory) Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GAMING X Video Card (€334.05 @ Amazon Deutschland) Case: Fractal Design Define R5 Blackout Edition ATX Mid Tower Case (€105.77 @ Amazon Deutschland) Power Supply: Corsair CXM 550W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply Keyboard: Corsair Raptor K30 Wired Gaming Keyboard (€49.80) Total: €1157.67 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2016-08-29 09:47 CEST+0200 What’s new and why: - Changed the CPU cooler to what I heard is allot better for only a little bit more money. - Added faster ram (from 2.133 to 2.400) - Changed the SSD to 275gb instead of the 120 and made it m.2 (also added 2tb HDD instead of 1tb) - Made the case to the newer generation define R5 - Changed the PSU to 500W hoping to get some new feedback on this. than i will order Thanks, Arno.
  9. Thanks for the feedback, I changed the PSU to a 650w. I forgot to mention that he might add a second card in the future. Will 650w still be enough if he goes SLI with the GPU’s? As motioned above, will the 650w be enough for SLI in de future? Also, to be honest SSD/HDD and everything around it is not my strongest suit. I own the same SSD in my system and I’m happy about it. Could you suggest anything if you think it would be better (and fit in the price range). Thanks. The 1.200 – 1.300 euro price range is the maximum he would like to spend. So the less the better, keeping in mind he is just gaming on a 1080p monitor I think a gtx 1070 would be a bit overkill for it. You can always make a suggestion? Would like to hear it, Thad’s the reason in posted this here to fix my mistakes on the build. Also, made some changes to my main post: Edit:- Changed PSU from 750w to 650w - Added the keyboard of choice by my friend, this needs to be included in the price range.
  10. Hey guys, A friend of mine asked me to help hem making a new computer. I have made a few computers so far, but still would like to have some feedback if I can make the build better. The computer would mainly be used to game on one 1920 x 1080p monitor. But some programming and video editing would happen from time to time. He would like to spend a maximum of 1.200-1.300 euro’s on the computer build. So, I made hem this: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor (€238.38 @ Amazon Deutschland) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler (€36.40 @ Amazon Deutschland) Motherboard: Asus Z170-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (€141.90 @ Mindfactory) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory (€82.89 @ Amazon Deutschland) Storage: Samsung 850 EVO 120GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive (€70.44 @ Amazon Deutschland) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (€54.00 @ Mindfactory) Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GAMING X Video Card (€334.05 @ Amazon Deutschland) Case: Fractal Design Define R4 (Black Pearl) ATX Mid Tower Case (€86.32 @ Mindfactory) Power Supply: Corsair CXM 650W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply (€96.70) Keyboard: Corsair Raptor K30 Wired Gaming Keyboard (€49.80) Total: €1190.88 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2016-08-28 15:02 CEST+0200 What is your guys feedback on this, could I make it any better, or cheaper? Does everything work together? Edit: - Changed PSU from 750w to 650w - Added the keyboard of choice by my friend, this needs to be included in the price range. Thanks, Arno.
  11. Thanks allot for the feedback. My desk will be higher than normal since I am this tall so my chair will slide under just perfect. Once again, thanks for the feedback.
  12. Yes, I am sorry mybe my question was not clear. The main question is, if its okay to sit at the corner of the L-desk. Some say you will end up to far from the keyboard and you will sit uncomfortable. So I would like to see some more opinions.
  13. Hi, so I am moving to a two spaced room at my house. Right now I got a normal desk witch I don't like since its small and it’s against the wall so I have no room for my legs (I am 1m98 tall). So I was looking for a solution in the new room. I measured the room and draw it on sketchup (never used the program so sorry for poor drawing) I got three pictures; The first is just an overview so you have a thought how the whole room will look like. The second picture is an top view of how I see my desk, I wanted to sit in the corner since I got room for my legs that way and I can easily see who is entering my room (old room I was with my back to the door, hated that). Third and last one is the same as before but with some measurements so you also have idea how much space everything takes. The monitors on the 3D drawing are the same as mine, so same size. The keyboard and mouse are not ( I use SteelSeries apex raw and trust gxt 158 mouse so no big difference) anyway what I need feedback on is the corner to be honest, I never used a desk like this and I got my doubts if it will be comfortable to sit on and to type/play games this way. Since I have no idea. (P.s the pc case will stand under the bureau, so not on top of it) The main question is, if its okay to sit at the corner of the L-desk. Some say you will end up to far from the keyboard and you will sit uncomfortable. So I would like to see some more opinions. So, what do you guys thing? suggestion? Greetz, Arno.
