  1. So something like this? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DELL-OPTIPLEX-9010-I7-3-4-GHZ-16-GB-RAM-120-GB-SSD-WIN-10-occasional-fault/233661224200?hash=item36674b5508%3Ag%3AzPQAAOSwQwRfHaRm&LH_BO=1&LH_ItemCondition=3000 If so, how much do you reckon I should offer?
  2. So I've been looking around for a cheap and fun little project to keep me busy and I thought about buying a cheap PC off of eBay like an optiplex to run a server for Minecraft or something for me and a couple of friends. How viable would this be and what sort of specs should I look for? Thanks
  3. Its a good few years old to be honest and probably my fault somewhere down the line . I've thrown it in the trash anyway as it was bent too
  4. Hi all I recently bought an AIO for a new build but installed it in my current PC while I waited and i noticed a slight gap between the heatpipes on my Noctua NH-U14s as seen in the photo. Is this normal or is it broken?
  5. Your CPU is pretty bottlenecked by your graphics card so I'd suggest either getting a cheaper CPU to save a bit of money, or getting a more powerful GPU. https://pc-builds.com/calculator/ is a pretty good site for checking if your system is bottlenecked. I'd also say 32GB of RAM is slightly overkill for casual gaming so you could drop that to 16GB if you wanted to save a bit more cash
  6. Hey all, this is probably the wrong topic, but it's the closest I could find. I'm building an (almost) completely new PC and my friend has said she'd be interested in buying my previous parts. I was wondering about how much I should ask for as I don't want to overcharge her but I also don't want to be almost giving it away. The parts I have to sell are: i5 6600k ASUS B250f OR Z270f Noctua NH-U14s ASUS GTX 1060 strix 6GB Phanteks p400s Corsair RM1000i Estimates in GBP please
  7. Update if anyone's interested: I installed the AIO today with the stock fans while I wait for my Noctuas and I am SO glad I ordered them. The idle hum of the stock fans is very audible and annoying even at very slow speeds... hopefully not for long
  8. Hey guys. Just got a kraken x63 for my upcoming build. Is it worth buying a couple of noctua fans to slap on or just stick with stock?
  9. Hi guys Probably a silly question, but I'm planning to use a Kraken x63 on a B550 itx board and I was wondering if the ASUS B550I Has the right header(s) to support it. Thanks
  10. Amazon price history makes it seem pretty good Thanks for this. Seems pretty trustworthy but tbh for the £10 extra I'd probably prefer to get it off amazon (I have a lot of experience with their support haha)
  11. Hey all Looking to get a new CPU for gaming and the Ryzen 5 3600 is currently on sale for £161 (~$200) is this a good deal? Thanks
  12. Budget (including currency): No real budget, just not absolutely crazy (well under £1000) Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Overwatch, GTA V, Satisfactory. Also doing a maths degree (with a couple of computing modules) so maybe some demanding programs(?) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): So I've been thinking of downsizing to matx or itx in order to help in moving back and forth from university (my car was PACKED moving back this year) but nothing has really tickled my fancy that's worth the cost of replacing most of my PC, but with the unveiling of the Coolermaster NR200 that has changed haha. So basically I need to replace all the parts that won't fit in this case. I'm not wanting to "upgrade" dramatically per se, however, with the age of my parts, buying newer generations will be an upgrade in itself. My current (full) specs are as follows: CPU: Intel Core i5-6600k Cooler: Noctua NH-U14S Motherboard: ASUS Strix Z270F Gaming RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 32GB (2x16GB) 2666MHz GPU: ASUS GTX 1060 Strix Case: Phanteks P400s Tempered Glass Storage: 250GB Samsung 850 Evo 2TB Crucial MX500 PSU: Corsair RM1000i (1080p monitor) I am wanting a 280mm aio for a CPU cooler, however, I'm open to suggestions to all other parts.

    Weird CPU temps

Reseated the cooler with another fresh thermal paste application and temps are a bit lower - about 35 at idle and 50-55 in prime 95. Turns out I'm just bad at applying thermal paste? Overclocked to 4.7GHz I'm getting 75-85 in prime95 is this normal too?
  14. Hi guys, need some help/reassurance. A week or two ago I got an ASUS z270f motherboard to allow me to overclock my i5-6600k which I got second-hand a few years ago. After I booted it up (before overclocking) I noticed the temps were slightly higher than before but nothing to be too worried about. I managed to overclock to 4.8GHz with temperatures which I thought were fine, however, today I noticed my system was reaching just over 40 degrees at idle so I decided to reseat my cooler - maybe I'd not put enough thermal paste on? After this I tried to boot my PC and got a BSOD every time (CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT and PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA). I changed my overclock settings to auto and was able to boot but I'm seeing idle temps in the range of 35-40 degrees (I have tried increasing and decreasing the mounting pressure to no avail). My CPU cooler is a noctua NH-U14s. Anyone got any ideas of what's going on? Thanks
